The reviews look good on them. Plus they have some nice tread designs. Looks like either they retread tires or use other brands designs to me.

I have not as of yet since they dont offer the size i want 255/85/16. The reviews are great, and if they offer the 255/85/16 in a mud tire i will jump on them.

I have a buddy of mine who runs them. He used them on his trip to Alaska from Pennsylvania and likes them a lot. I think he has 25000 miles on them so far. I too would like to see them in the 255/85/16 size. Below is a link to a someone else's post on this that provides a link to request that size. Maybe if they get enough requests they will make them.

I have run a few sets of the guard dog mt. I would not suggest them if you are sensitive to vibrations noise etc. The best balancing 285-70-17 took 5.5oz I think one wanted over 7oz. And the have this crazy howl almost like a super swamper. Wore well and had no other issues.

TreadWrights are great tires. Run the Guard Dog MT on my 4runner and have no issues whatsoever. They do have a loud MT howl, but they ride smooth with no vibes on the highway, and eat rocks and mud offroad.

Running a retread can get mixed results. Some people have balance issues/blowout/cap peel issues...others never have a problem ever. I personally wouldnt run them, but thats just me. If i had a dedicated mud/beach truck then maybe.

They are not the same as a traditional retread. They are remolded from bead to bead.

I have no experience with Treadwright tires, but I saw this video and thought the process they use is pretty cool.

I have them on my 4runner and they are awesome. Not a re-tread. A full remold from bead to bead similar to the process of creating a new tire, but using recycled material.

Why would you cheap out on tires? This baffles my brain. Putting your life in the hands some crappy tires is not worth whatever amount of money you save.

They are great tires for a trail rig but not something I would run everyday. They are a bitch to balance and the core/sidewall can have hidden issues. I would run them again on something that saw limited street use but not my daily driver.

Bought Treadwright Guard Dog MT B2B 285/75/16 four years ago and do not have many positive things to say about them so here goes...

1 out of 4 wouldn't balance. The other 3 had so much weight on them it was ridiculous. Turns out that one was defective and started to grow a bulge in the tread. Contacted TW, filed a claim, they sent another tire, but it took 2 weeks to travel 200 miles to me. So 2 weeks of not being able to go over 40mph without the ass end of my truck hopping off the pavement. The replacement tire balanced as good as the other 3, with a lot of weight. They said to throw the bad tire away or "use it as a planter", not kidding, lol.

9 months later, a different tire grows a bulge on the sidewall. Contacted TW, filed a claim, they sent a new tire, took 2 days this time. Swapped it out, same results, a lot of weight, but it's ok. Again, they said to throw the bad tire away.

2 weeks later a new tire shows up at my door that I didn't order. I told them I don't want this tire, and that my credit card had better not show a charge for this tire. It did. Then they refunded the charge, told me to pay shipping back, I told them to eat a dick, so they said keep the tire, then FedEx shows up 30 minutes later and picks up the tire. WTF?

1 year later, another tire does the same thing as the other two. They send another tire, I get that mounted up, they said keep the old one.

1 year later, another tire develops a tumor, but I caught it before it grew too large. So I called them and they said I had to buy the new tire at 50%, not bad, but no thanks. I throw the spare Firestone AT on it and wait until I can afford a new set of a better brand. Right now that last bad tire is my spare and has no air in it to prevent the bulge from growing.

I will say that in about 20k, they haven't worn much, then again, my truck is a lightweight reg cab. I don't play in mud, but they work well on the muddy ranch road, and in the muddy parking lot at the dragstrip that has buried full size trucks to the axles. On rock trails they grip good and better when aired down. No sidewall damage or ripped lugs, but I'm not a throttle junky. On pavement, they howl like a banshee on the highway and hum at low speeds. They feel good on the road, a little flexy in the sidewalls, but that's to be expected of a 33"+ tire. Panic stop are no problem and wet traction is decent, better if there's weight in the bed.

Maybe the quality control has gotten better in recent years and they do seem to be willing to help out. When I first bought them, the company had just relocated to Texas, so I wasn't surprised about some clerical errors, but I was surprised at the fact that so many of my tires were basically garbage. They work well to store engine blocks.

Would I buy again? Maybe, but not for the daily driver. For a ranch truck or toy sure, but at that price point, there are new cheap MT tires on the market that seem to have better reviews.

They have totally changed their process since then and the customer service has improved. A lot of the cost savings the consumer sees comes from the fact that they are using recycled material (inexpensive), not because the tires themselves are cheap or poor quality. The fail rate is actually the same as any other brand tire. Look up Duratrac sidewall issues - tons of post about failures, yet people continue to pay top dollar for them. (BTW I've owned Duratracs and had no issues with them).

I can only speak from my personal experience, which is positive. A bit hard to balance, but now run perfectly smooth at 80+ MPH after a full day of offroading, and that's on my old rusty rig. Can only imagine how they are on a nice new truck.

We just started helping sell their tires via an affiliate program two days ago. So if you buy tires through our site, yes, I will get paid.

That being said, I have run the tires for over a year on my personal vehicle with zero problems. Rock crawling once a month, lots of highway driving. Everything stated in my post is fact, not opinion.
