I have a 2021 TRD Pro. I’ve noticed noise that sounds like something is loose and squeaks, especially at low speeds, with the radio off, and when going over small bumps. It’s driving me nuts. Initially, I thought it was coming from the rear, but I think it’s from the front. Any ideas on whether it is normal or not. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Can't diagnose something like this over the Internet. 2021 is still under warranty? Take it to a dealer. Ask for a ridealong with the technician so you can tell him when the noise occurs.

Front body mount, spare tire swinging around, leaf springs rubbing, could be a ton of things.

But really as 3joh22a said, we are not going to be able to diagnose this very easy.

Tacoma leaf springs are notoriously squeaky. I get a small squeak out of my stock Pro rear springs occasionally. Same with my old '13 Sport.

I understand it’s tough to diagnose over the internet. Just thought there may be a known common issue. Thanks everyone for helping. I appreciate it

Check your spare tire. I had a squeak going over any size bumps. I thought it was leaf springs until I kicked the spare and it made the same noise. All I had to do was drop the spare a bit and tighten it back up and the noise went away.

Coilovers notoriously get squeaky over time, whether they’re Fox, King, Elka, Toytec, etc... My guess is that’s what you’re hearing.

My Son and I chased a squeaky leaf spring, drove it over bumps, rocked the truck up and down and never could get a noise unless you were driving it. Then turning into the driveway we heard it. After 30 minutes of checking it all out, we found the factory tonneau cover bolt was way loose. Tightened it up and solve the issue. Just saying it was a simple fix, thankfully it was minor. It sure as heck sounded like suspension.

Oh there will be some mods all right
There has been a fair amount of people who have had the TRD pro skid plate be the cause of their front end sounds. I believe the remedy was rubber spacers/washers once as well as just making sure all the bolts were tight.

Had a similar problem on mine ('21 picked up in January); I believe that the dealer replaced the motor mounts. I'll have to go back and read what they fixed. It ended up coming back...but not as bad. I also did quite a bit of off-roading up in the high country (Colorado) and flexed the suspension a bit - this seemed to help.

And for comparison, the '18 Off-Road that I had never had this issue.

Yeah I had the same thing. When I installed the spare tire lock I didn't tighten my spare enough and it squeaked over bumps and really sounded like leaf springs. Once it was really tight and I stowed the chain so it didn't rattle all those noises went away.

No noises here 21 pro. But only 3400 miles. Bring to dealer or wait for the scheduled service as mentioned..

Having grown up with no warranties and breaking down every so often, same mindset as you. Now when paying for something, worthwhile to use otherwise buy used(just not now in this market, buy new lol)

Is it a soft creaking/thumping noise, that only can only heard when going over small bumps at 3-10mph? Or is it more of a higher pitched squeak?

I dont have any noises on my 21' Pro. Its under warranty, see if you can track down the noise and have the dealer take a look. I fully expect squeaks and creaks over time, but not this early in the game.
