Hey I was wondering if anyone with a TRD S/C could tell me what effect (if any) it has had on the Rev Hang issue. I know it is caused, at least mostly by the DBW throttle but I'm curious if the ECM re-flash had any effect.
I'm seriously considering the S/C but with this PITA rev-hang annoyance I could be, lets say much more enthusiastic.

    TIA

I don't know what the rev hang issue is, but I have the s/c for my '12 and it made my opinion of the truck go from "meh" to "F%&k yes!"
    ...
A quick search of the forum for rev hang makes me think that its a manual issue, and I'm an automatic, so I guess I have no input, other than the s/c is awesome. It kind of serves as a audible reminder that I'm pressing too hard on the gas when I'm trying to be economical because the bypass valve opens up and the S/c whirrs when I give it too much gas.

I have the rev hang with my truck, its kinda weird/annoying. If I coast to a stop down my road in neutral to my driveway (about 150') it will hold rev till I get below about 5kph, I was wondering if it had anything to do with creating enough vac for the brakes? Honestly never searched it (I remember reading something about it so didn't alarm me) so don't shoot me if I'm way off ;-)

I have noticed the revs seem to stay up when I push the clutch in on my S/C '12. It really hasn't bothered me though.

My truck rev hangs around 1500 above 10mph, and I have no s/c. From what I understand it was put into the throttle body control in order to lessen the blow by gas emissions. If the throttle is closed immediately pressure in the crankcase increases causing more oil vaporization than usual. Definitely more prevalent in a supercharged engine though. Anyway by keeping the throttle slightly open even when the pedal is completely released pressure can escape from the engine.

I would look into an oil catch can if you get rid of the rev hang completely.

Thanks but it was not my intent to discuss rev-hang, but rather any effect the s/c install has had upon it. They all do it and weather you recognize it or how much it annoys you is another issue which is subjective

    Thx

I drove a 2013 6 speed manual for several months prior to installing a Magneson s/c with a Bully Dog ECU flash. Prior to the s/c install I'd read other folks commenting on the throttle hang issue and from my experience it had been noticeable but not particularly bothersome.
BUT NOW.... since the Bully Dog reflash to accommodate the s/c the throttle hang is RIDICULOUS ! It is so incredibly bad that I am concerned it might actually shorten the life span of my clutch since I often don't find enough patience to wait for the revs to calm down before finishing every up shift.
Sadly, I have taken this issue to Bully Dog and so far they have offered no solution.

Try taking your foot off the gas for a second or two before pushing in the clutch, may help with the hang.

Thanks, I will try that but I have to say it sounds like a lot of work & a herky-jerky ride if not done precisely.
Obviously my preferred method would be that Bully Dog (for $499.99) should get this right.

No worries. Like everything related to this 6spd, just takes some getting used to. I do believe that could fix your issues though, you'll find the sweet spot as far as how early you need to let off the gas before clutch gets pushed in.
