Looking for tire size upgrades people have done on the TRD Sports with everything stock, including wheels. I have gotten alot of feedback on this, but all from people who have changed the wheels (and, therefore, the offsets).

    Thanks!

You can only go up one size. That' it. 265 70 17.

I'm not sure what you mean by "one size." One size up in aspect ratio, or width, or both.....?

    Stock is 265 65 17.
You can go to 265 70 17 with no mods or rubbing on stock wheels with no spacers. You will only lose efficiency in the form of decreased mpgs.
    One step.

255/70(.5" diameter increase) also, it will put you right in between stock and the 265/70(1")

Hard to believe there would be any mileage implications from going to a 265/70/17. Tire only weighs 2 more pounds than 65 series, yet gears up the truck slightly. 657 revs per/mi vs 681 revs/mi. Would make speedometer off by about 2 mph at 60.

In that line of questioning, if using stock wheels and a 3" spacer leveling kit, what size tires can you run without rubbing and cutting modifications?

Will wheel spacers of 1.25" change the answer?

Do the calculations of accelerating unsprung mass from rest. I have. Also make sure you include the additional rolling resistance. Now, if all of your driving is interstate, then you won't see that big of a hit. City driving, going from a P to a C or an E tire are what will be worst.

Hey guys, ended up with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. 265/70 17. Fit like a glove with no mods and the stock wheels. Thanks for all the feedback!

I just put on 275/70/17 Mikey Thompson Deegan38 a/t with no mods. I did remove the front skirt that should be taken off all TRD Sports. No rubbing or issues. I think the truck has much better look.

I went from stock sport tires and wheels to 265/70/17 Toyo open country at2 SL tires on TRD pro Sema 4runner wheels and my GPS is dead accurate with the Speedo now. It was a little off which is what Toyota does. It always was about 2 mph off now it's perfect.
