Searched this site there was surprisingly not a whole lot of info on these “trd replica” wheels that are all over Facebook marketplace, at least in CA.

Was going to post this in 4th gen section but figured I’d get more technical knowledge in the 1st gen section?

anyone have experience with these trd replica wheels?

They're clearly knockoffs but dimensionally they are a bit wider than Toyota trd which is nice, and for rims and all terrain tires they are a great deal but I have concerns with the base alloy of the rim, possibly tolerances, balance, and overall safety? For all I know they could be made with recycled aluminum soup cans in china.

are concerns here well placed here, or is this relatively low risk? Aluminum is easy to machine so tolerances a no concern? Just curious on thoughts.

No disrespect to the sellers on marketplace, just want to be informed here a bit. I did reach out to them but they only knew that they were aluminum but had no idea of the grade or tolerances.

No personal experience but my brother in law has run 2 different sets with good luck. Not sure where he sourced his from vs where this guy sources them.

I would be concerned with load rating. I'm sure these come with 0 stress testing

There are factories in Szenzhen that crank these out to “DOT specifications” and they get drop shipped to port of LA. They are fine but make sure they don’t have different specs from OEM, like offset, etc.

    Interesting.. thanks

they do come slightly wider (8in) with +5mm offset which I think is a selling point for me over the 7in or 7.5in wide oem.. but build quality was my main concern.

I’ll need to look into these dot specification more and what specifically that entails
