    Hey TW fam,

First off I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Second, my TRD Pro Suspension (Fox shocks) just hit the 50K mile mark. I've done most of those miles on the highway with minimal off-roading.

    - Is there a way I can check them myself to see if they need to be rebuilt or should I send them into Fox?
    - Should I just wait until I feel some shock fading?
    - Should I replace the suspension completely? New coil-over and rear shocks?
    - I know I'm not the only one who has a TRD pro suspension with over 50k. Any advice from my fellow TW'ers would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Grant

What does the owners manual say? Usually that has all relevant maintenance requirements.

That 50k mark comes from Fox. I’m at 75k on mine and they’re as good as new. Ride them until they die, then worry about it.

Others will know more than me, but I’d say leaking would be what to look out for. It’s my understanding that they’ll either leak (old / bad seals) or blow (you’ll know you did it).

Suspensions last longer than 50k, esp since you're just highway driving.

This is the reply I was looking to ease my anxiety. lol.

Really sucks to think about taking these shocks off. Spending $200 in shipping (to and from) and another $300 for the service. For another $500 I can buy a brand new set of Fox/King/Toytec shocks.

I would just clean them up and visually inspect them for any leaks.

How long have TRD Pro owners seen there suspension go for before needing maintenance or replacement?

These aren’t Kings lol, they should easily last 100-200k miles depending on off road usage.

This is not in reference to buying the shocks but performing the "recommended" maintenance at the 50k mile mark. Fox recommends these are serviced at 50k. You have to ship the shocks to their facility ($100 in shipping each way = $200). They charge $150 a shock to rebuild. This doesn't include anything about the normal service either.

Find someone local to rebuild if you want it done. Might even be able to get it done over a weekend and on the road by Monday.

My right rear reservoir is weeping and Toyota won’t do anything until they actually start dripping. They don’t send them out to be rebuilt they just throw on a new one. Only have 24k miles. Guess I’ll keep waiting...

You can get an idea about full overhaul mileage with usage by reading the Ford Raptor Fox maintenance schedual.

For the best performance, get them overhauled sooner than later as the internals will wear making the oil dirty which damages more parts.
