I had the red letters and never really loved them. I replaced them with Tuffskinz Turbo Silver inserts.

    red
I loved the upgrade. I was SO bummed out I even got the plate with the red letters. When I read that the plate without the red letters was being discontinued, I immediately ordered the plate without the letters and this is what I got.

Took these pictures just now at night, so doesn’t look like much of a change. Skid plate is a medium battleship grey, but looks lighter in these photos. I hardly think about it anymore. It just bothered me when it was super bright light grey. Didn’t match the truck (to my eyes) and was easy to change with a couple rattle cans.

That’s funny, the person behind the counter also at my dealer also said it won’t fit, I think they just see that the part is for off-road or Pro, they don’t know the trucks are pretty much the same besides suspension and crawl control.

I'd say it depends. If you have any else on the truck that's red or are planning to do any accents red then maybe red? I'd personally go with more subtle black.

I kept the red TRD on when I installed my skid plate. It matched my little TRD on the grille.

Just for comparison purposes, here’s what the skid plate looks like with the red letter inserts pulled out. The holes are pretty small and it looks like you could push the letters back in if you wanted to.

I put on one my Utility package SR. It will fit any 4x4 model. I did pull the letters and painted them a metallic gray and used 3M double faced tape to help hold them in place. Wasn't keen on the red lettering.

Yes ordered today they still done their best to tell me it would not fit a 2017 and made sure to tell me it would be a 120.00 restocking fee if I ordered it and did not fit. After I get it on I think I will go back by and show them it does

So the TRD Skid plate fits your SR 4x4 No problem? It will be my first mod along with new meaner looking tires.
