Does anyone who owns a TRD PRO GRILLE for the new Tacoma have Silver letters? I bought mine today and it does but I could have sworn I'd seen them black from the factory.

    Thanks!

All the new TRD Pro grills come from factory with silver letters. A few members on here have painted their letters

Yeah they are a silver/dark grey. That being said, some people here have painted the letters black so that may be it.

Edit: ^^ beat me by 1min

I dipped the whole thing, and then did the "TOYOTA" letters a Dark Gray. I didn't like that shiny black plastic look. Prefer a matte black, plus I figured the dip would maybe add a little extra protection.

Can someone tell me how the Letters are removed so i don't damage them? Each Letter has a two plus + looking stem on back so does it push out or screw out?

Nice! I'll be doing the same and will be adding some amber led accent lights to my grill.

First I removed letters from grill. Then I scuffed up the letters then cleaned letters with alcohol. I painted the letters quicksand.

Letters are held in place with double sided foam. May want to heat up a little before removing. Use a flat tool to gently remove letters. I used a automotive adhesive when placing letters back on.

@rrentrop also makes decals in color-matched options which is a lot easier than painting IMO. He does great works. I haven't heard of anyone unhappy with his products
