Looking to install a TRD PRO GRILL for my '22 Tacoma Sport TRD. I do not have much installation experience other than the watching YouTube videos. Is this a hard install or does anyone know who would install a grill. I live near Syracuse,NY. Thanks for the input

It's not hard to do at all, I think you would be fine installing it yourself. Hardest part is removing the stock grill from the frame without breaking some or all of those damn plastic tabs (there are a bunch of them).

I probably broke half of them but didn't really care as it went in the trash can. But if you want to hang on to the stock grill then just go slow. Good luck!

    Oh look, another mod....

Here's a how-to video. Like @Buck Henry mentioned, be careful with the tabs. They can break off.

I installed my own and it took about...15 minutes to put on.

P.S. You can re-sell the stock grille on this site if you want.

I am mechanically impaired and after watching the Taco Vinyl install video a couple of times (I got their pro grille with the front camera bracket and garnish), I was able to install it in just under an hour going slowly. No issues at all with the TSS sensor. I did not disconnect the battery.

I have installed 3 so far. I have done two Yotaverse ones and one Tacoma Lifestyle one. Was very easy, just be careful for the sensor. The TSS sensor will throw a code if you end up doing it incorrectly. If you get the raptor lights their is two ways of routing them. If you need info for the lights I linked a video.

It's possibly one of the easiest things you can do when it comes to replacing items like a grille. I replaced the grille inserts (Silver to black) on my wife's 2021 Grand Cherokee, it required undoing many fasteners and removing the front bumper. Even had to drill out plastic rivets. The Taco is simple.

I agree, not difficult at all. I watched tha videos and completed in under 15 minutes. Biggest advice to echo is take your time not to break any of the plastic tabs. The install doesn't require any force, so if you find yourself in a situation like that then you’re prob missing something.

Anyone have an opinion on the latest Pro/Heritage grill offerings (lots of older post out there) as too which is best or are they the same? I have been watching the TacoGarage grill (they self proclaimed to be the best) but its often sold out, especially with the amber smoked lights. Also have TacoVinyl and TacomaLifestyle on my list. Follow up is does anyone know if one of these has a better raptor light setup? Thanks for any information.

Edit: just went back and searched again and got more posts than last time (month ago), I might have searched heritage grill that time, not sure.... but still interested in opinions of best quality aftermarket.

It isn't terribly hard. The hardest part for me was removing and replacing the tabs that were behind the headlights. If you have someone with smaller hands that can help that is the best place for them to help you. I don't have huge hands but I still had a bit of trouble fitting them in there.

In my opinion, the best is yotaverse. Very easy to install and good quality.

I’ve got a 2021 TRD sport with a front camera. I am looking to get the TRD pro grille, which I think I can directly from Toyota, it’s the same one that comes with the TRD lift kit. Does anyone know if this is a good replacement? Meaning, it will fit? And also, will the camera just fit into new camera holder? Or will it need a new mount? Or I’ll be good with just the grille? Thanks!

Dealer here quoted like $180, but I need to provide a pro vin. It sounds like I can use OEM, but will need a new mounting bracket which I can get from Westcott Designs.

I had no idea. I forgot about the TSS. If they do offer it for $180, that’s a steal. Id do it. Get the bracket and it should work then. Can you link the bracket so I can see it?
