I am shopping for a 2016 trd off road. The one I am looking at thru auto nation is advertised as a trd but has no trd decals and the paperwork they sent just says 2016 toyota tacoma 4wd 7540 Double Cab srd v6 at. Is this a true trd? Thanks

If it’s an AT TRD Off-road, it will have the multi terrain select and crawl control which the sr5 doesn’t have
Edit: the controls for those are up top by the map lights

Does it have trd wheels or sr5 wheels. You could check models on Toyota.com

It’s a trd, no doubt about it. If I recall correctly all trd packages have a Vin number that will show SR5.

Tire size on the sticker says it all. 265/70/16 means TRD Offroad right?

I don’t see the MTS/CC controls by the map lights?

Crawl control knobs up top and bed power inverter button give it away. Plus who in their right mind would go to all that trouble to turn an SR5 into a trd. You’re overthinking it.

SR5 has none of these features, case closed

Look at the map light area in picture 18. It appears that the mts knob is there. If that knob is there then is is a TRD off-road.

Wow CA is nuts for Tacoma prices. I paid less for my brand new TRD OR.

Just saying it’s overpriced. You can get a new off-road for that price.

I have an SR5. I'm 100% sure that's NOT an SR5. It's a TRD OR. People change rims, grills, whatever... But:
    • You can see push to start, which is not an option on the SR5.
    • The head unit is the higher trim one from the SR5.
    • You can see the traction control select knob at the top above the mirror, which is not an option on the SR5.
This is all clearly shown in the pics @Hstone556 pointed out.

Nice looking truck. Price as a starting point isn’t crazy. Nice little aftermarket items...worth low 30s imo.
