Found a brand new pair of headers with everything needed for install on ebay for $650 shipped. Are they worth it overall and is that a fair price?

Unless your cast iron exhaust manifolds are cracked or you have forced induction (blower), you will see little hp or torque gains. They are not worth the $$$$ unless you are supercharged.

There are other things that can purchased for $650 that yield more power. But if they will put a smile on your face when you see them, then in the words of Pope Francis: Who am I to judge?

I found some Doug Thorley headers for cheap and decided to give them a shot since I'm supercharged. Man what a pain they were to install. And they're even specifically redesigned to be easier to install than the TRD headers. Can you imagine trying to tighten that flange on the TRD headers y pipe thats directly above the transmission? They look great and give it a nice rumble, but are honestly not worth the time and money for the gains.

Not really worth it without a blower but i cant help but want a set myself. Price to get headers shipping to canada is rediculous...

@kigmob have you noticed any extra heat under the hood or any other downside for that matter? My manifold crapped the bed and I'm debating headers simply because I'll have to do the work one way or the other.

Can't say I've noticed any extra heat. I have all of the oem heat shielding on the firewall. Also nothing that's plastic around the headers seems to be melting or anything.

The only reason I put headers on mine was due to a cracked exhaust manifold. Man oh man what a nightmare to install

Yes any engine can benifit from long tube headers. Take the same engine family, but in the camery or Lexus . They came with longer exahust runners, not much but enough. I built a subaru header for a vanagon swap. Going from the log to 14 inch runners made more tork mid to low rpms.

I just found a set of trd that are going on when I do the clutch.

I added the long tubes to my old 94 and it made way more tork.

Do a little reading on headers. Look up a book called four-strock performance tuning. Forced induction is adds air on the combustion stroke, it does nothing for the exahust stroke.

I just hate to hear the regirgitation of one guy that probably never even changed his own oil let alone "built" an engine.

All right , off the stump. Think of it this way, if you don't spend the money the wife will !!

    Good luck
