    Here's my exhaust in its current state. I'll try to get some better videos. My apologies for the length of nothing in the middle, I start the truck after setting my phone down and then I throw a couple revs up after 1:05. I plan to add to this thread as I mount my GoPro in various places to get different takes on the sound.

    I added the TRD cat-back on the 2nd or 3rd day I had my truck, and it's definitely broken in and settled with my engine over the past 39000 miles. A couple of weeks back I preemptively added in a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator in prep for the URD competition y-pipe. I've read several reviews saying that adding the URD y-pipe (and thus deleting the rear cats) creates a very raspy exhaust note and I wanted to avoid that. I had the y-pipe in a few days later and I feel like the overall noise is similar to having just the TRD cat-back. The drone in the cabin is significantly reduced with the addition of the Vibrant resonator, but I think the overall tone of the exhaust is a little better. It seems a bit more truck like and less ricey.

    Anyway, I'm always curious what kind of sound people are getting out of their 2nd Gens with various exhaust setups. This seems pretty good for my needs. My seat of the pants dyno doesn't seem to notice any difference with the y-pipe, despite people claiming massive low end losses. I accepted that fate when I lifted the truck, added Pelfreybilt armor and accessories, and ran 33s.

    So here is another video (shot from a GoPro Session+ instead of a cell phone) that has some decent audio of the exhaust as well as the frustratingly consistent squeak of my leaf springs. This truck gets a bath in the morning and some Seafoam Deep Creep on the squeaky parts.

    The video is my exit from Sore Thumb/Robert Moses State Park on Long Island, NY.

    @whiskeytacos the exhaust sounds excellent! (leaf squeak was crackin me up, cant avoid it :p) I take it that is the Mark II Y-Pipe you have? Now that it has been a couple years do you still enjoy having it installed? Sound/performance wise?

    I have an aFe momentum CAI with the scoop and the TRD Exhaust and I really like the sound and performance as is, however I have been considering the Mark II Y-Pipe but I am afraid I will not like the sound of it. Ive been trying to find info/sound clips of the exact setup I have with the Y-Pipe (no resonator) but yours is the closest I can find. Did you at any point have it setup without the resonator? Wondering if that may be a must purchase with Y-Pipe kinda deal. Any info is greatly appreciated!!

    I had the resonator installed before the y-pipe because I was about to go on a lengthy road trip and didn't want to deal with too much cabin buzz for 14hrs on the first day. I do wish I had installed the y-pipe before hand just to hear it with the TRD cat-back.

    I don't believe I have the MkII component, mine was purchased in 2016 back when they made two different models for 2WD and 4WD trucks. That said, I still love the sound of it. It hasn't changed in the last couple of years and that's fine by me.

    @whiskeytacos

    I have the full URD exhaust system which is comprised of the spec-u LT headers, mk-2 y-pipe and mk-3 exhaust. I also have the MAF calibrator, AFE OEM ProDryS filter, O2 sims and extension. Is it more aggressive, absolutely. However, at idle and lower rpm cruising/putting around it’s actually quite well mannered audibly. Hell, even at 70mph at ~2K-2.1K RPM’s it’s barely recognizable with the windows up and radio on lower volume. Anything above that and you’ll begin to notice it. I won’t lie to you hitting WOT under an overpass gives me the warm and fuzzies.

    On a side note, I really should take the time to video it to post for others to compare with or provide some insight into what to expect if considering that route. I would suggest speaking with gadget at URD if you’re contemplating more retrofitted equipment. Specifically on the intake side. It would be wise to compliment the exhaust. Intake will provide a higher flow rate, reduce restrictiveness and increase air stream turbulence which equates to improved air/fuel mixture resulting in a better burn. Couple this with the MAF calibrator and enjoy.

    I smashed my OEM y-pipe on a rock and figured a little more flow and stainless steel pipes couldn't hurt.

    I've heard lots of mixed results with the MAF Calibrator. I even started a thread in the performance section. Can you elaborate on your positive results?

    I have the MAF calibrator as well. As far as my butt dyno is concerned, I haven't noticed anything power wise. However, I have found that when I am at highway speeds and need to pass someone, the power bands seems a little smoother as I accelerate in the 70-80mph range, and the transmission is downshifting far less than it used to.

    @DesertRatliff

    Technically you're not really gaining anything. You are freeing up untapped potential for lack of a better term. So, in regards to the MAF calibrator, lets first look at the primary function of the sensor itself. The condensed version is that the MAF sensor measures the air via resistor/s, is relayed back to the computer which then determines the amount of fuel to be distributed by the injectors to reach the correct air/fuel ratio per load percentage. Next, since the computers in our trucks are not being directly modified, any change (an intake for example) may affect what the MAF reads and relays back to the computer resulting in an "error". The calibrator manipulates the MAF sensor through parameters programmed (per URD) compensating for what modifications that you've installed or plan to install. Through that fact the computer now sees you're modifications as OEM equipment. Of course this is just putting it into layman's terms to the best of my knowledge. I'm sure that it probably goes deeper than what I've explained, but that's my long and short of it.
