Using the miracle of modern technology Voice to Text allows me to write this as I spin (sit) in traffic. My transmission temperatures are 185 and 194 degrees for transmission and torque converter, respectively.

My cooolant is running at 194 degrees.

What would be the safe maximum for each?
Edit to fix the miracle of modern technology... Lol

Toyota says that 122°-175° is normal operating temperature for the A750. Myself... if it's under 200° at the pan I'm not worried. I typically run between 130-150° on the highway at around 75° ambient. My trucks engine runs between 186.6° and 194° regularly. The heads are in danger of warping above ~240°. Check this out

Typically your transmission should run about 80-100° above ambient temperature. There is a lot of good info at Bobistheoilguy.
There is a chart here as well that gives you a general reference for transmission fluid temps, I'll post it below. IMG_0149.PNG.jpg

I don't have any experience with the obd2 dongle/app route. I think the codes are different for the apps. Most apps make you purchase the codes I think.

@07 sport 4x4 thanks for the info ! Did you calibrate yours to your truck ? Your mpg and speedo ? Do you leave it plugged in all the time ?

I leave it plugged in all the time. You set it up for your engine size in liters and set the gas tank capacity (21.1 gallons for my truck). Then you have to go to the fuel menu and manually enter that you filled your tank at each fill up. You can reset your runtime and average mpg separately at any time as well. I reset my fuel mileage at each fill up and my runtime at every oil change.
I have a thread about engine hours here.
I am also starting to track my average speed for each oil change interval. It's not 100% accurate, but it's pretty close on most things.

Thanks for those temps that Toyota suggests.

I have been running a Scangage II for many years. Previously I had it set to monitor both trans temps, coolant temp and instant MPG.

The trans temp at the converter runs well above that 200 debree temp. The pan temp though seldom gets close.

On my 2010 DCLB with the V6 and auto, I no longer use the oem towing package second trans cooler and do not run the trans fluid through the radiator. I installed a stand alone trans cooler. The oem smaller towing cooler became a stand alone cooler for the power steering fluid. The cooler within the radiator is capped off and not utilized.

I also installed a remote filter setup for the trans fluid. I use the same TRD spin on filter as the engine oil. Also, I have run Mobil 1 ATF for many years and many miles.

I would need to double check, but pretty certain the coolant is a 50 / 50 mix of Peak brand World Service, with Water Wetter.

With those changes, typical temps on a hot summer day here in South Florida see 186 to 190 coolant temp, and 160 trans fluid in the pan temp. If the truck does a highway run, the trans fluid temp drops a bit.

Pretty certain I posted photos years ago. If you can not find them let me know. Maybe I can grab more with the truck together. Possibly they are saved in a file too.

Also, I believe I got my intake setup from you long ago. Still running the Volant Scoop, plumbed into the oem airbox and running a drop in Volant filter. The filter was not from you.

I have a remote atf filter as well. I'm running a napa 1269 hydraulic filter. I got a 3/4-16 thread filter head so I can use the same filter for engine oil and atf. When I use up my stash of napa filters I'm gonna start using Toyota OEM engine filters for the atf.
