Hi, hoping @gearcruncher will chime in on this one. I’m helping a friend with his 02 double cab 4x4 with an A340F trans. We pulled the trans to replace a whining torque converter and replace the front pump seal due to a massive leak. It was a real bear to remove the torque converter and found the bushing for the front pump stuck to the converter snout. Obviously the bushing spun and also damaged the front pump. The website we ordered the converter from has two different front pumps listed a .370 or a .420. How do I determine which one I need? Also does the bushing come installed in the pump? Thank you.

Ok so that would mean pulling the pump out and splitting it?

    Yes sir .
I suggest popping the pan off first to get an idea of the trans condition .
If the pan is full of metal , your going to need more than a pump .

Once you have the pan off , You should be able to stand the transmission up and just pull the pump out .
