Hola everyone! I have a few questions about the stock fluid path on a v6 auto with tow package.

I plan on adding an extra secondary cooler as I was not the happiest with trans temps over the last few weeks during towing in hot weather.

I know it has trans fluid cooler in the radiator bottom as well as a separate cooler in front of the radiator stack stock. What I dont know is what the fluid flow path is (does it run through the rad first then the aux cooler or visa versa) and which line is what (IE what line is the OUT line of the trans and which one is the return)

Also, does our A750 trans have a thermostat? (im worried about over cooling during cooler months / snow skiing trips)

Have you talked to @gearcruncher about the over cooling dilemma? And i believe the trans line runs into the rad first and then to the secondary cooler. The return line is at the bottom on the cooler.

I have not talked to @gearcruncher about it. I guess I could follow the lines out of the trans, i feel as though i figured out the output of the trans at some point when I did my transmission flush.

I added a monster-sized aux cooler. Made huge difference in towing temps. I live in NY and although it keeps it pretty cool in the winter, I didn't worry about overcooling. Sticks around 160 in winter if I remember correctly (and I do plow with it as well).

Being in socal over cooling is going to be hard to do really. Im not sure how far north you travel but even if you were to go up to mammoth during the winter your temps would be way good by then imo.

Im often up in the mammoth area in the winter (clocked 20 days on the mtn last season, and 30+ the year before). So sub freezing / single digit temps are not uncommon. I guess worst case a piece of cardboard over the secondary aux and call it good.

Thats the pic im looking for! thanks!

Cardboard or cap the lines to the second cooler would work.

Yeah, I could plumb in two ball valves, one to bypass the cooler, and the other to stop flow two it. Couldnt just cap em off as they are all in a line so you need flow.

Yeah i guess caping wouldnt work lol. In my head i was thinking that you could just plug the lines back in the original way.

So does anyone know if the A750 has a thermostat?

Also, which trans cooler do you all recommend?
