Mt first Toyota is a 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 with a V-6. I take it it has NO transmission dip stick. I can't see one and it isn't mentioned in the manual.TIA.

Is this another cost saving measure from Toyota?

You got a problem, you take it to the dealership and they'll tell you what's wrong. They got computers and shit...tell you what's wrong. Shit.

There’s little to no reason to inspect a sealed transmission. Tons of manufacturers do this.

This has been since at least the 2005's. (2nd Gen) A quick search will reward you with tons of info about this.

No. No vehicles have the dipstick. The primary enemy of transmission fluid life is oxidization of the oil due to air ingress. Manufacturers have eliminated the dipstick, across almost all models, to make transmissions more reliable.

My dip stick goes into the fuel neck. It just barely fits.

Yup. All you need is a light to make you aware of a low fluid condition. These days, fluid level sensors are solid. And let’s face it, if you wanted to be hands on with your tranny, you would have gotten a manual in the first place. Autos don’t need a dipstick anymore.

We are lucky we get an oil dipstick. I believe BMW has gotten rid of those.

I have a manual, it's the last thing I look at when trying to figure stuff out though. That's a man thing.

There is a breather, but it may include a diaphragm, Gortex membrane, or a control orifice so it is not free-breathing all day long. Also they can locate a breather in a location where the air has minimum contact with the surface of the oil.
