I’m kinda confused on the bellhousings on the Tacomas all the transmission I’ve found on Facebook have the starter on the right. But they are the same transmission as the one in my truck. My starter goes on the left. Do I just switch the bell housings?

The starter location on the passenger side is for the 3.4L v6 engine. Your stuck info indicates you have the 2.7L 4 cylinder engine. Do not change the bell housing. Instead make sure you are selecting a starter for your engine.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t very clear, I ended blowing up my transmission due to an input shaft seal leaking I didn’t catch the leak because it was leaking straight to a skid plate I’m currently shopping for a new transmission. And the transmissions I come across are right side starter and I need one that’s left side that’s why I was wondering about the bell housing swap

I think what they are trying to tell you, is that you need to look for a transmission from your same engine type, not just the transmission model. If you get the same model but from a different engine configuration you might have to swap more than just one item, so it's probably a lot easier, in the long run, to look for manual transmissions from another 3rz.

I would make every effort to find an exact match model type transmission for your truck.

I suspect he needs an auto, not a manual.
