I have taken it upon myself to fully inspect my transfer case as my fluid was quite milky looking. The fluid has no magnetic properties so I’m assuming it’s aluminum. And the only aluminum inside the tcase is the shift forks and the housing. I noticed the shifter forks definitely look like they have wear but I can’t seem to understand why. Nothing else that I can visibly see has wear. Housing looks great. Chain looks great. Sprockets look great. I don’t freaking get it. I have been using Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90 and you can see how my fluid looks after only probably 500 miles. I have been researching all over the internet trying to find a picture of shifter fork and collar and the only thing I found was a YouTube channel called Austin Nimela ( probably spelled that wrong) and I took a picture of his video when he rebuilt his transmission on his 1st gen. As you can see in the picture it looks like his trans as a groove in the collar where the shift forks sit. None of the photos from Toyota show the side of the fork or collar that I need to see. These are what mine look like. If you have extra parts lying around for the R155 Tcase also that would be fantastic.

Edit: I found this on the interwebs. I’m going to check clearances tomorow and see what it all looks like, but I still want to know what they are suppose to look like. Toyota says the max should be 1.0mm according to this.
