    Hello,
Pic included. Checking differential fluid and transfer case fluid levels yesterday. In the pic, is #1 the drain plug and #2 the fill plug?
    Thanks!

Thanks! It I did check level at the fill plug and had about 4-6 ounces spill out. Vehicle had been driven about 2 hours before and fluid was slightly warm. Should I have let it cool overnight? Or, was it over full?

Not sure about 4-6 oz but when you fill the T-case, it's similar to the rear diff where you are just filling until it's coming out of the fill plug so temperature may have had something to do with it. Only real way to check the level in my opinion is to drain and fill to the correct amount.

Wow. So truck sat parked 14 hours in 68° F garage and I just now checked the fill plig on the transfer case. Approx 1/2 quart came out the fill plug hole! Approx 6 ounces came out last night. Pic shows plug out of fil hole. Was it over filled at factory? Im guessing dealership didnt check it.

that doesn't sound right. I drained and refilled mine and it took just over 1 quart. If you lost 1/2 a quart you might just want to check everything is OK and there's enough fluid in the t-case before you engage t-case again. I got my ravenol delivered from Amazon in about 2-3 days. It was last year and it was only $11. going to $15 is a huge jump, but still better than $60 a can. I might order a quart of that if I were you, just to make sure you have the right amount. Toyota putting MORE of anything seems to be a paradox. they seem to skimp an ounce or two here; not give you MORE.

Yes, that is my thoughts as well. I am not sure if there is a higher factory fill plug to be able to get that much fluid in. I used a right angle peice of wire (5mm angle peice) to check and it seemed to be full. I will check again today since it has sat overnight. The correct way to check as full is to see if oil is at 0 to 5mm below fill plug correct? Front and rear diffs were at perfect levels. Haven't done the transmission fluid check procedure yet.
