Anyone here been on the trails at Robber's Cave state park? How long are they and are they RTT friendly? TIA

Looks like they are just for ATVs, 250 acres according to the travelok site.

I thought that too, but there were quite a few people on FB that said they had taken their rides down them

I was told...so you know how that goes...

But I was told that if you talk to the ranger and let him know that your gonna go up, they're fine with it. They just dont want trucks ours and say RZRs up on the trails together.

I went and checked out Robber’s Cave this morning. Jeeps and trucks are allowed on the trails. They charge $20 per vehicle per day. They say they have about 12 miles of trails over 250 acres. All the trails I found get pretty gnarly pretty quickly. I would probably try them with a group and some decent spotters, but I was by myself. Ended up not going very far

The trail pics look great. You said you didn't get very far. Was it way rockier after these sections?

It’s rocky everywhere I could see and really steep in a lot of places. It’s hard to tell in the pics, but that hill was pretty hairy and technical. Not something I would attempt without a good spotter and that’s why I didn’t go farther

Yeah they never look as steep in pics! That first one of yours does a pretty good job though. Looks fun for sure. I may have to go check those out.

Hope to get sliders by next month, then I'll be good for most trails, if there's anyone grouping up!

No guide on difficulty leads you to figure it out yourself, but was able to turn around when I got stuck and had no issues or breaks. No spotter, stock ‘17 OR. Overall very fun, but I don’t have much to compare this to.
More treacherous, killed a water moccasin at camp same night.

Water moccasins are no joke there. I saw a few while day hiking a couple of years ago. Also it was the only state park I've been in where the ranger said "technically we have a leash rule, try to follow it in camp but it's totally cool to let your dogs run when hiking"

How doable do you think it would be in a stock Honda 700 Pioneer?

Not mine, pulled from inter web, for idea of clearance

I think you could do probably 90%. My truck is stock OR, no lift and I had a blast. Where I lacked ground clearance I had to turn around bc I couldn’t bypass the obstacle due to my truck’s size. You’ll be able to go around when you need. a day pass to the ATV area is only $10 when you’re also camping, so you’d definitely be able to have $10 of fun on that thing.
Post some pics if you decide to go, and use a lantern if you’re stumbling around after dark!

Oh man, for your sanity and your wife’s, do it!!!
The hike to and around the cave itself was totally doable and fun for my 4 year old, and we didn’t even go to the “beach” while we were there. Lots to do for young uns. 2309C539-2500-410F-9F2A-3297017F8591.jpg
