To make a long story short... I have been getting my dads trailer back to working order and had to convert the trailer from a 4 pin to 7 pin add trailer brakes etc.. I got the lights working on the trailer, except the marker lights.. After troubleshooting I found the issue to be my truck..

I have a 7pin > 4pin adapter that has lights for testing.. When turning on the head lights the (TM) light does not illuminate. The left and right test lights work as expected..

I checked the ground, as every thread suggests, and I believe the harness is a factory harness. I have also verified the fuses under the dash are good. I didn't know how to test the one under the hood so I didn't really check that.. Is there something else I should check?

The picture below shows the truck with the lights on, and the hazards on..

In case you want to read the long version, which brought me to the truck as the end problem.. I had a thread on this page.. once it became a Taco problem, I came to the Taco folks..

Basic troubleshooting. Grab a multimeter and check for voltage starting at the plug andwork forward until you find power.

Or bypass all troubleshooting and just run a new wire.

which fuse? I am having the same issue, I have signals on trailer but no running lights. AFAIK truck has factory towing package because the 7pin was located in the stupid location where it was broke off first steep hill I took. there is a blue square fuse marked towing and I don't know if that is bad but he 30a fuse for towing lights is good.

per the links I found my relay may be bad, . I tried splicing a new 7 pin connector on then I lost all lights. I put the old connector back on and I am back to brake/blinkers but no running lights, as far as changing the fuel pump with the towing lights relay they are not the same as one person stated, they aren't even close on a 2009 DC. I'm guessing I will have to spend the money on a relay and if that doesn't fix it will have to figure something else out. I just bought an M1101 Military trailer and it sure would be nice to have the running lights work (and yes, they are LED and work on 12V, already confirmed that by manually testing with portable 13V battery).

Well, the good news about the "running" lights is that they don't involve the "converter" circuit. They are straight on/off with the headlights. Worst case, you run a *fused* wire from the under-hood fuse panel to the bumper, and splice into the tail lights to power a relay.

Note: the relay and fuse should both be marked on the inside of the lid of the relay/fuse panel under the hood immediately behind the battery.
