    Hello! We want to give TW an exclusive deal!
    The Trail Swing is a tow hitch mounted tire carrier swing out that perfectly fits the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma. (and 4th/5th gen 4runner). Although this carrier fits multiple vehicles, one of our top priorities was to get it lined up and sitting correctly on the Tacoma without compromising departure angle too severely. The Trail Swing lines up with the OEM Tacoma bumper, it doesn't hang too far below! The new tow hitch receiver is above the OEM tow hitch so there is more off-road clearance and less likely to drag.

    Quick Specs
    • Designed, Engineered, Manufactured in the USA
    • 1.5" x .120 wall chromoly tubing plated with 3/16" steel. (STRONG)
    • Higher clearance tow hitch with extra reinforcement plate. Will tow up to OEM max tow capacity.
    • Carry up to a 35" Tire
    • Comes powder coated stealth black
    • Auto latching hinge locator with 3 positions. (Hands free)
    • 1,000 lb latching mechanism with 12mm stainless steel safety pin. Keeps the swing closed even under harsh off-road conditions.
    • Weighs 65 lbs.
    Design
    • The new tow hitch receiver is located higher than the oem one giving the extra bit of clearance needed while offroading.
    • The entire assembly was pushed up as high as possible to line up with the 3rd Gen Tacoma rear bumper. There are others on the market that hang below the bumper and limit departure angle.
    • Easily mount a 2 gallon or 4 gallon Rotopax without the need to buy extra brackets (Bolts right on using the Rotopax bracket!)
    • It will come with a license plate bracket and a license plate light located above the arm.
    • Strategically located rubber pads to absorb vibration and keep the Trail Swing rattle free!

    The 5th gen 4r was a limited model, so the OEM bumper hangs a bit low. We are working on getting another 5th gen 4r to get better shots.

    Hey Dirtcom, I’m really interested in your product. Have you test fitted at all for Tundra thus far? I have a 2019 Crewmax. Actually looking for primary use to mount tables/propane and potentially rotopax etc (ie no tire at least initially). Any thoughts on this approach and any compatible products to serve this purpose. Also, I stared at your post for over an hour as well as clicking through your website. I cannot for the life of me decider the hidden message! Any projection on shipping costs to WA?

    Hello I just sent you a PM. We will be producing a full size larger version for the Tundra. The arm will be 5" longer and have double 3/16" plates. Since we focused on high clearance, we tucked the arm up and in.. and also made it as short as possible (horizontally). For this reason, the short arm is not wide enough for the width of the Tundra to not be annoying. You would have to open close to 180 to clear the tailgate on the Tundra and that is not ideal.

    As far as tow hitch mounted carriers go we have the closest fitting to the Tacoma bumper and the best offroad clearance!!!

    I'm looking to pull the trigger on the RIGd Ultraswing and saw this post. Will you have a backup camera relocation kit? One of the things that I like about the RIGd is the table mount with the Frontrunner camp table. I see you have something similar but it's out of stock. Any idea when that will be avaiable? Good to see I have another option with your product.

    The backup camera relocation kit Rigd sells on their website is from anytime backup camera. If you look on their site https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com/ they sell a front and rear anytime camera with a switch plug and play to the Tacoma. What Rigd is selling is just the rear half of that kit plus a new rear camera. Since we designed multiple mounting holes into our Trail Swing, the backup camera from that kit will bolt right on!! We have a full stainless steel table being released that is cheaper than the Front Runner table. Also, we won't charge extra for brackets just to bolt on the table because our mounting points are built right into the Trail Swing!

    Wish I saw this post sooner!! Oh well, but I just recently installed a rear camera relocation where the license plate would be relocated on my tire carrier. It is straight plug and play. No wire cutting and connects from the existing OEM harness that would be connected just underneath the rear bumper, passenger side. Here are some pics for an idea. I routed it just behind the passenger side with a quick disconnect for my license plate light and can easily disconnect the rear camera underneath as well. Good luck!
