The only thing I don’t see there is what I want to see. The JBL system in your truck is 2ohms. The Kicker sets mentioned there are 4ohm. You WILL sacrifice volume output if they are indeed 4ohm. It’s not like they can put a resistor in-line to fix it, they’d have to rewind the voice coil. The JBL spec is probably the plug for their plug-and-play statement. I’m not saying don’t try it, just be aware of the issues.

I see that too. They clearly state its for the JBL Premium but I am a little worried about that as well. They literally just arrived so I will be installing and they have a solid satisfaction return policy.

Ok, so the fronts are in and they come with both the mid 6x9 and the tweeters for the dash with in line crossovers. They sound significantly better than stock and like to be loud. The 4ohm speaker didn't lower the volume at all, in fact they might be a bit louder relative to the volume number. Looking forward to getting the rear door speakers in too. I had put some sound deadening in the front doors awhile back and I will be doing the rears too so that's another day. Overall, they are much more crisp with actual highs and more clean and rich in the mid and lows.

I installed a set yestrday, sound is a bit fuller, I hear the sound stage up in front of me. Not sure its worth the 500 dollars. I just ordered amps and a new sub.

Did you replace the stock JBL?

It is making me want an aftermarket sub now though as the stock one can't fulfill that low end rich bass I need in my life.

I did too and didn’t notice an improvement but went back and filled the box with polyfill, sealed the factory screw holes, and added an extra seal on the sub and it’s noticeably better now.

How has it performed now that it’s been installed for a bit? Still pleased with the purchase? I see they now have a focal speaker set up that’s plug and play. Has anyone tried that?

I like these. I don’t know how good a plug and play set of speakers for the JBL set up can be though. I got a lot more rich sound and bass along with much better highs.

I do think the set is expensive for kicker speakers but I am happy with it vs doing a whole tear out and upgrade.

I wanted to give this a bump to see if anyone else has tried the plug & play Trail Grid Pro speaker sets with factory JBL in their truck? I’m curious if the Focal or OEM Audio Plus plug & play options are worth the extra money and any better than the Kicker KS speakers?

I'd like something that's plug & play so I can install myself and easily return to stock if needed. I don't need a competition-winning system, just more clarity and sound separation.
I'm currently trying to decide between these speaker options:
    1. Kicker KS plug & play speaker bundle from Trail Grid Pro ~$400 (free shipping)
    2. Focal plug & play speaker bundle from Trail Grid Pro ~ $709 (free shipping)
    3. OEM Audio Plus plug & play speaker bundle from OEM Audio Plus ~ $719 ($42 shipping)

The kickers at $400 are only about $20 more than just buying the speakers/parts, so the price is reasonable. What I don't get is why they sell any of these for the JBL system. They are all 4ohm speakers, and the JBL uses 2ohm speakers, so you're not going to be able to utilize quite a lot of the already limited power the JBL amp has.

If you're not replacing the JBL amp, I would not spend $700+ on speakers, thats for sure. I probably wouldn't spend $400. You're not going to get the full benefit of better speakers because they will still be powered by the JBL amp, which is definitely the weak link in the system.

You can spend $1500ish to gut the JBL and build a terrific system, so no way I would drop 700+ just on speakers

I don't mind spending the $400 on the Kickers to keep things plug & play and be able to easily return to stock. On my past vehicles, I've spent thousands on full sound systems, but I have kids now and don't crank it up as much. And I agree, $700+ for just speakers is a lot, especially if they're not being utilized to their full potential with an appropriate amp. They better sound fantastic for $700+ because that's already half the price of a full system (and likely not worth $700+ in my opinion without a proper amp).

@RebleAZ and @Jaycen both mentioned there was no loss in volume and everything sounds fuller. That might be good enough for me. Normally, I'd be worried about losing some bass due to new aftermarket speakers not being properly amped, but the stock (albeit weak) JBL sub should fill in some bass where needed... I'm hoping. I just wish the factory JBL sub could reach a little lower in frequency.

Mine shipped today. I’m having an issue with my head unit still but will still pop these in when they get here and while I’m waiting for the dealership to call me back about fixing my shit. Glad to see people are liking them though
