Do NOT do business with these people. I was sent a defective front/rear anytime camera kit which cost me an hour's labor to have Running 4 Taco's install it.

The yellow RCA is causing the front camera to cut out.

Trail Grid Pro refused to reimburse me one hour labor to have Running 4 Taco's remove the kit and install a new one.

Trail Grid Pro did offer to replace the kit but they expect me to just eat the labor of $65. No. Had their GARBAGE product worked in the first place, we wouldn't even have to have this discussion.

I'll be sending their JUNK kit back to them for a refund and I'll go another avenue.

Terrible customer service and all they care about is taking your money while providing an INFERIOR & DEFECTIVE product.

I asked to speak to Mike's Manager and got the typical runaround bs about his boss was supposedly in s meeting and wouldn't talk to me.

Additionally Mike Sheiry is rude and has zero interest in making a customer happy. He also implied over the phone to me that Running 4 Taco's tech damaged/sabotaged the harness. I told him fine, this is going viral.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Avoid this place. Your money will be well spent somewhere else.

These people are your typical east coast jerks. Greedy, rude and disrespectful and they take advantage of other people and rip them off.

Suppliers pretty much never pay for additional labor fees on faulty products unless you have them install directly. For all they know, the installer could screw something up. They also sold the product to you, not R4T, they don't know or care how you're going to have it installed, whether that's by you or others.

What if R4T's labor was $1,000? Should they be on the hook for that too? It sucks, but this is a risk you run with buying things online in general, especially with paying labor to others on items you bought elsewhere. This post seems uncalled for.

Kinda hard for them to install it when I'm in Colorado and they're in Maryland.

Also it was installed by a highly renowned and well known shop (Running 4 Taco's) in the Denver metro.

I don't play the what if game. It wasn't $1,000. It was $65. The fact of how rude they were to me is why they're getting this.

    The product doesnt work.

Never said they should have installed it, what I'm saying is that places don't reimburse labor for failed products if they didn't install them. All I'm saying is they don't know who is installing it and as such, can't be held responsible for labor charges. If you had spent 300 bucks on install, you'd want that reimbursed as well and they have no way to prepare for whatever dollar amount someone is going to request to be reimbursed.

BTW, they don't make the cameras, they appear to be shipping one of the popular cheap ones on Amazon, it was probably delivered to them faulty and I doubt they test them themselves before sending them out.

    Good luck.

They offered to replace the kit, what more could you ask for?
There's a lesson to be learned here. If it's that important too you, always buy local. If. You buy elsewhere, this is the risk you run

Nope, sorry. This one is on you.

If you have someone that's not the vendor install it, it's your liability, not theirs. My recommendation is to eat the 65 dollars and be thankful that the lesson was that cheap. It almost never is that cheap.

There's a reason why most people who modify learn to do it themselves. You need to be proficient enough to troubleshoot and chase wires. If you can't or won't do your own work, you're going to walk away upset more often than not.

I suppose one could throw the same insult at the west coast as well. Very inappropriate jab IMHO and I don't see how it's an appropriate generalization.

I learned a long time ago to test everything before it was installed if there was labor involved to replace it after if there was an issue.

Their emails came across as nothing but professional. As for what was said on the phone, it sounds like you are making a wise choice taking your business elsewhere. I don’t know how you came across on the phone - that could be a part of why you received the response you did.

The situation sucks for sure but try to put yourself in their position (as others have mentioned): the only thing they are responsible for is the product, NOT the install. This type of situation is why many, including myself, become DIYers so we aren’t paying labor and it is much more satisfying doing a project myself and enjoying the outcome (or cursing my lack of skills / ability).

Since this is a review subforum, I would like to chime in with my recent experience with buying a headunit for my 4R.

    https://trailgridpro.com/products/sony-xav-ax4000-plug-play-bundle-10-23-4runner

Everything was as described, and was plug and play. The install was incredibly easy and everything worked as it should, took me about an hour. They forgot two minor things in my order (mic bracket and hazard switch bracket) so I emailed them that day and the next morning, the pieces were on their way.

“Typical east coast jerks”. What a dick statement. You are pissed b/c you don’t know how the world works so now you piss off maybe half of the people on here that could have or have helped you. Good luck on this forum in the future.

I bought a kit from Trail Grid Pro and installed it myself. A big reason I went with them is so I could get the pre-wired kit.

It should be common sense, but you'd want to hook everything up first before running any wires. Maybe Runnin 4 Tacos did that, and charged $65 for it.

The pre-wired setup is presumably bench tested as well.

Them covering labor would definitely be a step above and beyond. I think most people install theirs themselves. Given Runnin 4 Tacos carries the same kit, why would you mix and match installer and supplier here? To save 20 bucks? Now you are between two companies finger pointing. All told you're out $65 and I don't think anyone here is going to take your side that Trail Grid Pro have somehow screwed you over. Unless you called TGP in advance and they said they'd warranty work by another shop it is pretty presumptive to think they should.

I am disappointed but not surprised the average person no longer knows right from wrong.

I'm curious, aside from your rants...where is this evidence of wrongdoing that occurred?

No one said you needed to pay anyone to install your camera for you. And if anything, Trail Grid Pro could've said no to offering any help since you had a 3rd party installer involved.

Hell, there are many items that exist where vendors specifically state no warranty if installed by anyone other than an authorized dealer.

This forum exists for many reasons, one of those lending itself to DIY friendly tutorials and walk-throughs.

You have a very myopic view of right and wrong.

And I don’t know what the character part means, you generalized an entire population of people negatively. You should just request this thread be deleted.

Or really just leave it up as it'll say something about her character next time she tries to defame anyone else.

Being provided customer service with a logical solution wasn't good enough so she threatens to bad mouth them on social media after. Not sure if this threat was in response to not getting ahold of the manager, but this screams total Karen energy.

Trail Grid Pro's only responsibility was to the product sold and nothing more.

I bought my anytime front/rear camera kit from Trail Grid Pro and installed it myself with zero issues. I've been very happy with it and have been considering ordering one of their stereo kits. I know several others have bought their stereo kits and have been very happy without any issues. OP, Sorry to hear your experience was not the same.
