Good info friend. I have 2.5 acres, forest land, flat-ish and don't want to overbuy. It's going to be re-grading and de-stumping during 2 month summers and removing snow for 8 month winters.

I can remove small stumps like 3 inch but any bigger is a chore, my brother in-law and I rent a mini excavator and split it on a weekend and then hit the stumps. The hardest thing I have to remind my self is that tractor is not a bulldozer as some things are easily done but it still has its limitation

Depends on how fast you want to de-stump. The backhoe on the BX will do it, but it isn't going to do it as fast as a mini excavator. I've dug plenty of stumps with mine. It just isn't fast. I've also dug some that were way bigger than I should have. Roots are the biggest struggle for the BX. Good to have someone standing by with an ax or saw.

I’m thinking of going with the BXpanded ripper tooth if I get into serious stump removal.

I can see how that would be useful for stumps and roots. I don't have a quick attach for my bucket. I do have a thumb which makes picking up stumps really easy once they're free.

Yeah, I don’t have the quick attach either. Probably something you’d want to have, as I can see the advantage of wrestling the stump out of the hole with the bucket and thumb. The QA would be a time saver when switching back and forth.

People on another tractor forum swear by that ripper for root destruction.

Noticed today one of these new tires has 3 splits in it, I haven’t even used it yet. That’s not good. Went by the tire shop I bought them from and showed them these pictures and he said we’ll be in touch. It has 15psi in it and it’s 8 ply.

I told the guy to send whoever to look at it, he said he’s never seen a Firestone do that.

Me too. I told him that I paid up for good tires so I wouldn’t have to deal with this down the road in a few years. I like to think we have a good enough relationship he knows it wasn’t me that did anything to it

Found this thread just now when I was looking for info on mowers.

Picked this up on a three way swap deal this past weekend.

It's a 4 year old Exmark Turf Tracer X Series, with an Ultra Cut deck (means it requires less maintenance on spindles, all of the "internals" of the mowing deck, etc). Has about 1077 hours on it, which is just about nothing for these machines. Has a 23hp Kawi motor. Machine is big, but handles super easily, and cuts really well thanks to that big motor. Commercial grade machine. 52" cut.

Personal. But I used to cut grass with a buddy of mine, and this was the same type of machine that I used to use, so I kinda fell in love with it and been trying to get one ever since.

They called me a little bit ago, they’re getting me a new one Monday and we are swapping

He said he don’t know what his supplier will do about it but at least he and I will be straight. That meant a lot to me
