Anybody know anything about a powerhouse prowler? Owner of my company acquired it when he bought a electrical company and he doesn’t want it. Offered to sell it to me for $5000. Comes with a bucket, trencher and trailer that needs a lot of work. Supposedly the engine was replaced at one point in time and there is a hydraulic leak.

No idea what it’s worth but I’d love to have some tracks like that to make a mini dozer out of a lawn mower.

I worked with a great engineer (ME) at one time. If the company was selling off equipment he'd get the weight and find the scrap value and figure out the worth from that. The guy was an absolute genius.

I paid $4k for mine 10 years ago and I have a much older model.

As a testimonial, my wife told me recently, if it dies tomorrow, you will have another by next week.

I get do many request from friends to barrow it for trenching and post hole digging, it easily paid for itself.

They moved so slow, there is little chance to beat them to uselessness.

I think my wife uses it more than I do.

I added a trailer ball to the bucket. I move trailers and never break a sweat.

If a person has more than a city lot, this thing will pay for itself.

Those are $14k for just the main unit.

You can find new, Chinese knock offs for $6k.

Oil leaks are my favorite maintenance problems.

95% it's a fitting. 5% if the time it's a hose. Napa will make any hose you want, even in a Saturday.

Is yours gas? Looks like they are going for $6-8k online when they pop up for sale. Might offer him $4k for it.

Mine is a 13 HP single cylinder honda. It lifts everything I ask it.

I like that I don't have to contort to sit into a skid steer. Just step on the back and go to work.

    They really are very handy.

My skid steer has a bad hydraulic leak, I agree it's probably a hose or a fitting, the bad part is, it's under the engine/hydraulic pump and the belly pan doesn't come off. I need to pull it in the shop and tear into it.

I worked on one for a friend recently, he bought it and put another engine on it. The lift frame was crooked. I could see where they would be very handy around the house.

:rofl:yeah looks crazy, i thought the same. But basically you have two handles and it gives you leverage to close the spring/open the jaws and set the trigger.
