Now that I’m past 25k miles, it’s time for my first diy tire rotation on this truck. Will pressing the reset button prompt the system to detect the new locations of the wheels? Or is it more involved?

tire rotation is every 5000 miles, rotate and hold tpms button for about 10 seconds. drive for awhile, see what happens

I thought when you rotate, it will auto update?

No. Just ensure when pressing the button that you're stopped and then wait for the TPMS readout to clear and stop flashing. Also, ensure your tires are cool as I believe it also sets the low pressure warning based on where they are at the time.

Note the DIY. I think (hope) he's had the 'free' dealer rotations up till this point.

Yes. The reset button is for resetting the set point so don't push it unless you are getting false warnings. Just rotate the tires and the module will figure out the new wheel positions after a few drives.

Correct, it does. I have done 3 rotates and have not had to reset. I run 35psi front 37psi rear. After rotate it auto updated, after short drive.

Indeed I have. I also intend to rotate more frequently than every 5k.

I just got a new set of tires today. Kept same factory wheels. The tire light is on and None of the TPMS are showing pressure. I tried the reset button, it no change. I’ve driven it about thirty miles, hoping it would re-calibrate. Any ideas?

Im about to rotate mine this week-8k miles (Im late I know) I havent had the dealer do anything - Unless there's another reason I'm unaware of - I'm not driving 45min one way to the dealer for something I can do myself in 20 minutes.

I don't remember doing anything special for the sensors after rotating mine. I do remember the aluminum alloy wheels being a real pain to get off the rear. They were seized on and I had to use a heavy mallet to knock them loose.

Hold the button until the dash icon flashes. I just did this last week and it took about three days of driving around town for them to finally re-register. Just when you think you're going to have to press the button again, they pop on. And I never let the dealer touch my tires. I really don't trust them to properly torque the lug nuts and it only takes about half an hour to do the rotation yourself if you've got a floor jack and an electric impact driver. Actually it's that damned impact driver that makes it almost fun. Zip. Zip Zip. And don't forget that it's 83 lb/ft on the lugs going back on.

When the tire shop swapped my sensors I had no issues with the truck knowing which tire had what pressure.
Not sure how it knows where the sensor is located? LF, RF, LR or RR but it seems the truck can tell where each sensor is located.
Because it gives me the correct tire pressure for each tire.

Why? Do you constantly have a significant amount of weight in the bed?
