Hello, I just got two new tires installed at DT and they rotated the front to back at same time. Everything looks good so I leave and go across the street to double check. I had dashes then numbers after a few feet of driving like normal on the cluster readout. Since I know the tires are now in new locations, I preform the TPMS reset with the dash button. Back to --- on all four. Been driving for awhile now, at speed, multiple days and have tried resetting a few more times but not getting the tire pressures to show. This was not an issue when I got a new tire and swapped the spare on wheels last year. No TPMS light, just no numbers. Any ideas?

I have read and understand the manual and the reset procedure and time/distance. I will be in contact with DT when they are open if it doesn't come back. Thought I ask here in the meantime. Thank you.

UPDATE: I have regained my readouts. Here's what I did. I didn't reset today, left were I knew it was good yesterday. Got on the interstate and it took 20 miles at 70+ mph but as I was giving up and slowing down to get off at my exit BAM it popped up. Drove around another 30 miles and it was updating the psi just like before. So I guess we will see how it is tomorrow but seems fixed. Perhaps it took longer due to age of sensors (5 years) or cold temperatures. I'm not sure. Just had to go faster, longer and be more patient.

Not sure if this would make a difference or not, but did you push the button while driving or while stopped?

First time I had the motor running as I was parked doing a walk around. Since then I have followed the procedure in the manual exactly. All times it has flashed slowly 3 times.

You have the common problem where the auto-locating function isn't working. This is typically a faulty or broken sensor. They still will read pressures fine and if you drop the pressure in one tire below the threshold you should get the tpms warning light.

    3 options:
1- Find and replace the problem sensor/s.
2- Leave as is and just get "traditional" tpms functionality.
3- Hard program the sensor locations using Techstream.

Mine took about 4 days to read after re-setting it with the button after I got new tires. I thought there was an issue with mine too. I guess I wasn’t driving very far distances in those first few days because it finally took a good hour+ long drive without stopping for them to all read again and I haven’t had the issue since.

Sounds like they may have screwed something up during install. Did they charge anything on the bill for tire tpms rebuild? They usually do, either they replace the battery, core seals or something to that effect. I'd be back.

Discount Tire "rebuilds" the tmps as part of the install service but its just a oring and outer nut as far as I know. There's nothing on the bill about the sensor as a whole. Will be calling them tomorrow if I can't get it come back after a long drive today.

I saw your comments in my searching. I was thinking about jacking up the rear end and spinning the two new tires to see if I hear anything lose inside. When they are hard programmed in ts do they have the same issue next rotation? Just odd it worked almost immediately after leaving the parking lot then after button nothing.

Not odd, exactly the symptom of this problem.

If you program with techstream, yes you'll have the same problem next time you use the reset button.

I have no sensors in my winter rims generally it takes about 14 miles of driving before it lets me know I have 4 flat tires. Needless to say my confidence in the pressure light system is pretty low!

Yep. Same issue and self resolved. Got new set of wheels installed with snow tires. Aftermarket Schrader TPMS sensors. Got the yellow TPMS error light when I started the truck. Hit the reset button. Light went away but dash was not reading tire pressure values. After about three trips totaling +50 miles the numbers popped up. So far all back to normal.

    Mine is behaving slightly differently:

The tire pressure light came on during cold weather. Came home and inflated the tires and reset the TPMS.
After resetting the dashes appeared and never showed Pressures only dashes.
Reset the TPMS (3 flashes) and drove for a while over 20 minutes over 50 MPH.

Eventually, the TPMS light came on solid, and still no totals for any tire.
Took the vehicle to the dealer and they said the computer indicated the final step was needed to complete initialization.
This isn't something I could handle since this is done by the dealer only with a diagnostic box.

Drove the truck home and finally saw new totals for all 4 tires.
This morning I drove into work and it is now showing all dashes again.
I don't think the dealer fixed the actual problem and just finishing the final step was $163

I wish they had done more than just reset the darn thing.

I think it will be a persistent issue for the life of the truck.

I remember now why I try to avoid the dealer at all costs. I also had Platinum Coverage up to 100,000 miles and this was not covered by the plan.
Of course, it wasn't covered. UGHKKKK

yes, all four every time I start the truck and go anywhere... perhaps this has always been the case but I would think the last values would reappear the next day after a reset and successful reporting had been completed. Yesterday on the way home from work it magically reappeared. It was 81 degrees outside if the temperature has anything to do with it?

I have this problem twice a year; every time I switch from my winter set back to the regular set of wheels and tires. Seems that I need to keep resetting it until the settings 'stick.' Typically takes a few tries.

Guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it. It really bothered me that the reset didn't finish initializing and the dealer said there would be no way to get it out of that state without bringing it in. I've never had an issue resetting in the past when cold weather hit. I didn't like they just forced a reboot so to speak.

And on top of that the base labor charges for a simple plug-in device and letting it reset everything was outrageous... so much for a Platinum Warranty

I have the same problem with my 2016 sport.
Had a slow leak and it set off the TPMS light (good)
Fixed it/reset my PSI to a better value-and relearned it, and worked for a few days (trying 34 psi)
But now all dashes for a few weeks now, have reset it a few times from the first problem over a month age, i did have numbers for a day or two after a reset and have left it alone for a few hundred miles. still nothing.
have done a few 1/2 hour highway trips also.

Are they at the point that the cold is messing them up? Was 30Deg warmer at the start of this.

I'm NOT going to the dealer for this.
