    Hello all,

I have seen a few threads on Toytec, not alot of reviews out there about their product. I am looking at PN: TTBOSSTAC-2005ALM for my 2013 4X4 DCSB Tacoma. Would like to know how reliable others' Toytec suspension has been for them? Any info or back stories will help. In the market for a 2.5/3" lift. Got my eye currently on Eibach and Toytec. I am liking the Toytec coilover option for adjustability. Haven't heard much good or bad.

@Toytec Lifts Would you by chance have any discount codes for TW member's? 5-10% off? Or running any sales in the coming week's/month's?

I have them on my 2012 offroad great shocks in my opinion especially for the price. The adjustability part is not very easy you still have to compress them to adjust properly as far as ride very smooth on road better then 5100’s IMO was not happy with the 5100’s at all. There definately made for having extra weight IE: bumper winch etc.. offroad there pretty smooth as well unless tou hit a big hole your going to feel it as you would with just about any suspension. I had one issue when i first bought them over a year ago with the bottom bushing curling out and causing a rattle contacted toytec they were aware of the issue and sent me a entire new set of coils with the new style bushing. Great investment IMO lemme know if you got any other questions about them

I greatly appreciate the feedback. I am just looking for reviews. See how the longevity of the product is. Is it worth the money, better alternative's and stuff like that. I am eyeing these for the 3 inch lift in front and 2 inch AAL in back, which i'll probably keep overload in for 2.5 like website. Seems like best bang for the buck IMO but just wanted to see what other TW member's are saying. There is only like 2 threads or so on Toytec with useful info I have seen.

I think I'll go this route. Same here with 2-3 grand on coils. I am trying to spend no more than around $2,500 on suspension. Ideally what the plan is this package with 2" AAL. I'll buy some JBA UCA's. I already have some SCS SR8's in a box waitiing. Then tires and that should complete suspention/wheel/tire setup. Then maybe next year shoot for a hybrid bumper and some roof racks. Then shortly after, maybe some lights and winch and call it quits. I don't want to do too much to the truck. But i do plan on keeping this one until it dies. Hopefully after it hits 1 million miles lol.

I've been running the toytec package on my 2019 DCSB for about 8 months now.

    I got this:
Toytec Boss 2.5 Aluma Series Performance Suspension
kit included SPC UCAs, and full rear leaf packs

    Here's a pic:
    IMG_0596_V1.jpg

I've been really happy with the ride. I've taken it wheeling in the mud a little bit, and a fair amount of washboard/dirt roads. No hardcore crawling of any sort.
For my use, which is 95% on road, its preserved the quality stock ride, while leveling, adding some height, and also giving me an offroad option for bigger tires.

Once or twice I have noticed an 'odd sound' coming from my drivers front on sudden compression. I don't think it's a rubing sound. May be a defect in the shock, but it's so extremely rare, I'm not concerned.

Jba’s are a must if not your sway bar will hit the spring very happy with the jbas as well plus you get a slick look as well. I have the all pro aluminum apex bumper with winch and all the goodies but i think you will be happy. As do i plan to keep the truck forever going on 10yrs already and no major problems well none at all really

Check the bushings see if they are starting to roll out if not check for wear on the spring could be hitting somehwere. Ie swaybar, control arm etc

    Also,

Did you paint your grille shroud? I am trying to paint mine black but i am struggling where to start. I have a chrome one at the moment and just ordered the TRD Pro grille for it. Just don't want the chrome anymore.

Did you use that Duplicolor? How long did it take you? And are you pretty happy/comfortable with the black you painted it? I just want it to look clean ish. Doesn't need to be perfect.

It's tough to say exactly, since I did wheels and tires in the same run and the work wasn't itemized.
I think the suspension was 3K + labor. My total all in with the lift and the wheels/tires, installed was 7K.

To be fair my Fox 2.5's are adjusted via the same method of having to adjust the preload on the spring... and they cost way more than these. I've had coilovers on cars where one portion of the body would thread in and out so you could adjust height without adjusting spring preload. But I've never personally seen offroad shocks like that. My friend has a 1rst gen with Toytec coilovers and he has loved them for the last 5 years or so.

Also, you don't have to compress the spring or remove anything to adjust coilovers of this style. Just loosen the pinch bolt that holds the preload ring in place, spray some lube in between the ring and the top of the spring, and find a pin punch that fits the holes on the ring. With Fox it is a 5/16". Now this is the important part, when you try to turn the preload ring, you must turn it in such a way where the rotation would be trying to pull the ring open and not force it closed. So if you're trying to lower the preload, adjust from a hole on the right side of the split in the preload ring, and if you are trying to increase the preload, adjust from a hole on the left side of the split in the ring. Hopefully that makes sense!

You can adjust coilovers with the truck on the ground this way no problem. You don't even need lube really but it helps a bit.
