Anyone ever use Toyotatracker.com? Shows my truck is in the freight stage with an expected delivery date between 7/7 and 7/26. The dealer told me they typically add a week to the expected delivery date. Just wondering how accurate this site is. Hoping my truck lands any day now.

My only concern is my agreed upon truck trade in. I drive my truck about 1200 miles a month since it’s my daily driver. I asked about that and he said “when the time comes when you pick up the truck maybe another few hundred miles won’t make a difference,” I’d say 300 miles a week isn’t far off what I drive.

So you signed an open contract with no specific trade value stated?

Hope that works out for you.

I never said I signed an open contract. The trade in price of my truck is listed on the contract as such. I’m talking about the cut throat mentality of some dealers these days pulling some BS, that’s all.

I’ve never bought a vehicle that wasn’t on the lot already so this is a bit new to me.

It took 4mo for my truck to come in in 2021. The dealer honored the deal, even though there was 5000mi more on the truck that I traded in. He wasn't happy though. They're the ones who say 1000 mi a month is average.

You expressed your concern as being your trade losing value while you wait.

If you have a contract with a stated price, where does that concern come from?

Regarding accuracy: https://toyota-tracker.com output seems reasonable and gives the same date range as the dealer had yesterday. Site seems decent.

Because like I said earlier this market is insane. I nearly bought a Colorado a month ago and signed paperwork and put a deposit down only to get a call a week later that “the truck is a custom order meant for another customer” which to me sounds like it was sold to someone else who was willing to pay over MSRP (I wasn’t). Therefore I’m saying in this market who the hell knows what scam a dealer could pull regarding the trade in ?

That's tough that that happened to you. On the bright side, you're getting a way better truck IMO. Thankfully most dealers aren't like that, especially if they think you'll be a returning customer!

look around , find a dealership with tacomas in stock and pull the trigger.Or just wait and do a trauma dump when your truck doesn’t arrive on time

I agree. I’m glad I didn’t get the Colorado after-all. My Ram has been good to me for the last 5 years but it’s a lease buyout and I got 4 years to go with 75k miles. Time to move on.

Keep in touch with the dealer, but don't bug him. Try to find out when they get their deliveries. Then check without being obvious. Let him know, indirectly, that you're budgeting for a new Camry in a year too. It will put you in a better position if he thinks you're a returning customer.

I actually want to get a RAV4 for the wife but I believe their leasing for around $500 a month which is ridiculous to me

That’s what I thought as well. What were they typically leasing at?
