Every time I look at the new Tacoma, this image pops into my mind. Warmed over, incongruous body panels slapped onto a previous design. A fugly, chintzy, posemobile.

In case you forgot the new tacoma is just a prototype slapped together for the auto show they will be making further refinements to it before the final production model.

I hear the new raider comes standard with $6,000 in free full body clear bra treatment, as well as a go pro mount under the glove box.

That Mitsubishi looks like the spawn of a fling between a Dodge Dakota and a Buick Roadmaster station wagon. Ewwwww...

The Raider was just a restyled Dakota. It was built by Chrysler. The first two gens of the Dakota were built by Mitsubishi.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Wahhh, wahhh, wahhh! Can we just quit bitching about the new Tacoma and just accept it? Nothing's gonna change it no matter what you say so just shove it and move on already, good god people. Guys that whine and bitch about Tacomas on a Tacoma forum should sell their truck and go buy a Dakota and they will see how good they had it!

    'Nuff said.

The 2000 to around 2004 Dakotas looked nice. It wasn't until they changed all the nice curves to a whole bunch of angles and added a Jay Leno chin to the front of the truck that it became an ugly beast.

Unfortunately, Toyota has done pretty much the same thing to the 2016 Tacoma. Fugly angles on the sides instead of curves, "flat" fenders, and a Jay Leno chin, not to mention all the other ugly features like the headlights, tail lights, grill, etc.

The Tundra guys hated the 'chisled' look on the 14+ ... but have since come to embrace the new look.

FWIW ..the look 'fits' the bigger truck much better than the Taco IMO.

Ummmm... Are you for reals? The only thing I see the same is they both have wheels, mirrors, doors, a bed...

This is a classic example of what drugs can do to you kids. Stay off the drugs!

Yep. I figure in 10 years or so Toyota will come out with a better looking version of the Tacoma than the 2016. By that time I might be ready for a new truck.

So...Does anyone know what the 2026's are going to look like? :cookiemonster:

I doubt it. I was at the auto show last weekend, both trucks looked production ready.
