    Hello TW!

We are excited to offer a new product beyond our Vehicle OCD organizers. We are now part of the Baselayer family. Baselayer specializes in manufacturing premium all-weather American made floor mats.

I am looking for 3 members to do an unbiased and honest review of the new Tacoma mats here on TW. Must have a double cab with automatic transmission. We will provide a free set of front and rear mats. All we ask is you follow through with posting your honest opinion. First 3 members to reply will get a set of mats headed their way. I will PM for shipping info.

    Edit: Thank you for volunteering

If you are so easily impressed that you need a set right now, they are on Amazon with a 25% Amazon coupon in the listing. Baselayer Gen3 Tacoma all-weather floor mats
    • front mats only - with coupon $75 before tax
    • front and rear mats - with coupon $120 before tax
These are premium quality, all-weather mats with a refined texture that you don't see on other all-weather mats on the market. Really a nice product to protect your interior with style. The TPE (rubber like) material is no-slip, extremely durable, and flexible. The material is a huge step up from the many stiff slippery PVC floor mats on the market.

Available as front mats only or front and rear 3-piece set. These come in your choice of gray or red logo. Baselayer offers a limited lifetime warranty. Visit baselayerlabs.com for detailed specs and info.

Free Free Free free hmmmmm, there’s gotta be a catch somewhere
    Okay, received yesterday.

1st impression, very well made and still flexible. Instructions with your typical warning about not using them over any other mats. Along with if anything is wrong with them to stop using immediately.

Comparison, right side is the other company with the higher lip than the Baselayer.

Top photo for comparison are the drivers side . Bottom photo are the passengers . The other company does not have the mounting points like the Baselayer . Not sure why the passenger side has the mounting holes because my 17 doesn’t have the latching points . It only has the latching points on the drivers side. But the do include small plastic covers to hide the latching points.

These are the back floor mats with stock on the left and Baselayer on the right
    IMG_0507.jpg

Here are pictures of them installed , I went with the Gray because I have some gray from the factory.
    Fronts

    IMG_0512.jpg
    and rear
IMG_0509.jpg Now if you notice where the caps go over the seat bolts, Baselayer has the little area built into there mats that cover those . I like that idea because you don’t have to worry about the cap getting knocked off and lost.

    IMG_0510.jpg
And on the drive to work today , I use cruise a lot and with the other company my shoes or boots would slide on the mat some. But the material that Baselayer used absolutely no sliding around. I’ll edit again when I see how they do in rain and mud.

But for now I highly recommend them .

Nope! Getting the product in the hands of Tacoma owners in the best way to prove out products.

Installed! They look nice and are an obvious upgrade if coming from the stock carpet floor mats. I'd say they are a great first attempt for the company and priced as they were (with coupon) when this thread was created they are a great purchase. For me personally I will stick with a competitor's offering because their coverage is far superior. In my own personal opinion Baselayer should have these as a "base" offering and then offer a premium version with better coverage.

Baselayer pictures first and then the competitor that I am sticking with

I took delivery today of the Baselayer front and rear floor mats that I agreed to review a couple of days ago. Shipping was quick and through FedEx. Initial impression is good. They have a nice texture and seem to have a nice grip to them. Installation was typical to any floor mat of this type. Took only minutes. I am removing the front Husky Liners and rear Toyota mat to give these a try. Coverage seems similar to the Husky Liners although the husky’s do have a slightly larger lip that goes over the plastic door sill. I really like the plastic covers that go over the anchor pins. They should keep water out better than the Huskys. The rear is one solid piece and covers more area than the stock mat. I have included a few pictures.

They have to be better than the crap Toyota ones. 14 months and my drivers side already has a heel mark hole starting and they look like crap constantly just hours after cleaning.

Interested to see how these are reviewed.

I’m excited to test them. I took out the OEM TRD Pro fronts almost immediately and replaced them with Weathertechs. Will be interesting to see how these compare.
