Toyota stout pickup

Back when I still had my schwinn sting ray Toyota
imported about 4,000 of these things into the US.
I never heard of them before... this one's a 67,
I just saw it over on bringatrailer...

An OG mini truck

 

Had this as my desktop background at my old work for a little while.

 

That’s a prime candidate for a resto mod.

 

There's a place in Liberty, NC that specializes in parts for older imported Toyotas. Crown, Cressinda, those things, etc. Called ToyzUnlimited. They have a site too.http://www.toyz-unlimited.com

 

What motor would you put in there?

 

the tundra 5.7 w/ a blower would be sweet. Turn that thing into a sleeper

Kinda hard to be a sleeper with a blower. How about a twin-turbo Supra motor? 320 HP stock. That'd be a lot of juice for that little truck.

 

They aren't too bad. Mines really quiet on my 4.0 until I get on it, and even then its just a little whine.. Now the exhaust on the other hand definitely gives my truck away. Sounds like a racecar lol.

A 2jzgte would be pretty sweet though! Plenty of power for that little truck

That's awesome. Never heard of those. Pretty damn cool though!

 

Love the mini International Harvester looks of these. I became aware of them via barnfinds.com pretty recently, but have yet to see one in real life. They were made in double cab and a suburban-esque wagon body as well. Someone on YotaTech did a 4x4 conversion with a 5vz-fe swap, and it absolutely looks as badass as you'd expect it to.

 

It's gotta be a light a truck, right? I'd do a V6. It would have plenty of power for a small truck. A turbo 4 cylinder with a manual transmission might be nice too.
