Watching Football tonight. Nice Ads. Nice Trucks. Nice Commercial tonight: Toyota really pulls out all the stops sometimes and hits a home run on these two ads including a cameo of "The Land Cruiser comes back to America". I can't imagine what the song rights must have cost them.... and ya: I do realize that "Bad Moon Rising" was released in 1969: I'm wicked old: "It's not the age: It's the mileage."

    Enjoy! :D

I do like the look of the new US spec Land Cruiser in that second ad. Reminiscent of the J60, and so I suppose goes head to head with the Bronco. A bit down market for the Land Cruiser, but still very nice.

In terms of price vs. the new J300 or even the 2021 LC in the US. The 2024 LC starts in the $55k range in the US. The entry level 2021 was almost $90k.
I don't mean to take anything away from it, it's still very capable. It's just a different market segment.

Oh, I understand what you’re saying, just looking for context.

I’m happy see the Land Cruiser return to its roots. Granted, it’s not the rubber floor mat, solid axle, removable roof FJ40 the purists were asking for, but it’s a step in the right direction. I love the UZJ200 series but around the time the 80-Series got leather seats, the demographic changed and the prices went nuts.

I'm a fan of the 200 series too. Had a friend in HS with an FJ40 that he put a lot of time into and turned it into something to show off. His dad was a hot rodder so he had access to a lot of tools and knowledge. It wasn't a particularly comfortable ride as I remember.
I have a friend now in line for an Ineos Grenadier. Delivery in January. I can't wait to see that thing.

In the Nightcrawler commercial, what is the white SUV at the front? And what is the trim package on that beauty?

This isn't even false advertising... years ago some black ice on I80 put my first taco on its roof. Bent a lot of sheet metal but didn't break a single window. The tow driver that flipped me over recommended that I have it taken to a shop and checked out since it had been sitting upside down for a few hours at that point. When I got it back from the shop, the only thing they found was my transmission fluid was a little low, totally unrelated to the accident. $40 later I was back on the road and drove it as-is until I sold it 4 years later. :D The most labor intensive task was picking up all the spare change that was ejected from the ashtray...

    Moral of the story

How to repair your 1st gen after rolling it:
Step 1: Flip it back over
    Step 2: Drive away
