TOYOGUARD Platinum - what did I pay for?

My only real question is - what is the "Exterior Paint Sealant and Interior Protector" referred to on the sticker, as part of XY900 "TOYOGUARD Platinum"?

It's confusing that one of the included brochures says they'll do oil changes up to 45k miles, and a different brochure says 60k miles. However the TOYOGUARD website says 60k so I'll go with that.

I'm mainly wondering what the Exterior Paint Sealant is?

Also, I bought the truck in Alabama, but I drove it home to Texas. I'm hoping the extended coverage is valid in any state, and it appears it is, but we'll see if I have any trouble when we get there.

I got a great price on the truck.. it came out to about 35.5 k, about 40k out the door. It was worth the flight and drive home to get it. I'm only grumpy about the dealer's $998 doc fee, was stiffed on that. But the negotiating to get the sticker price down made up for it.

The dealer told me they had not yet installed their package, which included Edge-Guard Paint Protection, Window Tint, All-Weather Floor Mats, and Nitrogen. However, as I was signing the paperwork, nitrogen was put into the tires (a gimmick but whatever) and after I brought it home, I noticed edge guards on the doors and front corner of rear fenders. The truck has tint, but it's not very dark. I'm not sure if the port installed the tint or if the dealer did. It also has all weather floor mats which the dealer told me would be included for free. Anyhow, I'm happy with the tint, and I'm glad to see the door edge guards. There is no edge guard on the front of the hood yet. I was planning to install a Husky Aeroskin II up front. I'm also debating whether to pay for ceramic coating or not.

Gulf states cartel strikes again!!! You got the brochure on what you bought. In the end if you are happy with the deal you made then that's all that matters. Usually the paint protection is just some spray on wax.

Edit - Look like it was SET and not GST.....just as bad though.

I believe the ToyoGuard Platinum is a product of Southeast Toyota Distributors. I am curious if it will travel outside their distribution area? Probably will, just like any other warranty.

It appears that your truck was intercepted by the Port Pirates of SET. Per the pirate’s code, they always leave their mark directly on the sticker…and leave you with puddle lights, ARB hooks, and expensive bed steps that you never asked for.

Consider yourself lucky that you were only hit for a grand.

Aside from those add-ons (which honestly I don't mind having) this truck was pretty bare-bones. It was one of the most basic SR's I could find with the MT, which is fine because now the fun part of customizing it begins.

It's probably applied in the onsite automated drive thru carwash.

Message received. It’s a can of unnecessary markup. At best, pre-paying for 4 extra oil changes, if those oil changes were $175 each ‍:bananadance:

I tried Simonize on my 21 Compass. Works great! A lot easier to clean and stay clean. The color looks deeper because of the gloss. Best if applied to a new vehicle although you can on any but will cost you more. Got it for free on that one as the salesperson said it was only about 50 bucks and the detailers usually just sat around.
Got it on my 24 Taco it was 699, I believe. Got a certificate that if I traded it to any Toy dealer I just show it and they will knock 250 off the purchase. But you know how that goes.
