Anyone have Toyo Open Country A31 tires on their truck? Any reviews, feedback would be helpful since there's not alot said about these on the web.

They look like a run of the mill highway tire. I’m bet they’re nice and quiet. Toyo makes top notch tires do I’m sure they’re good.

The A30 is listed at tirerack.com . Probably pretty close to the A31. Not a great tire by any stretch. Toyos are typically sold by Les Schwab out here in the West. They are generally more expensive than better tires from other brands. They rarely show up in comparisons, but usually end up mid-pack.

The A30 on my Taco are decent in the dry and marginal in the wet esp on tar snakes and paint lines. They did excel in the snow though and worked well off road at full pressure or aired down.

I felt too much sidewall flex at the recommended 29psi. At 35, they feel right and am getting very even tire wear with cross rotations.

At 25k, I am worrying about wet winter weather and have to get serious about a better replacement.

Toyo open country AT2 are the shit! Easy to balance, rides great, quiet, great looking tire, awesome in the rain and sand. I use them over the over rated bfgs.IMG_20190915_115300682.jpg

AT2 are much better tread as you can visually see it compared to A31. The A30 even have more tread out to the side rims. I have had good luck with Firestone Destination LE2 on my current Taco. Leasing new one and truck i like has the TOYO A31 on them. I guess it's a gamble. My goal is not to put new tires on in the term on the lease 36 months and have good tire in rain and snow.

I responded to you in another thread I think. I have the A31s and will run them til they'd bald and I can upgrade to ATs. (Wife won't allow upgrade until I need tires or sell these)

Quiet on highway. 23MPG average. Wet and dry traction is fine. Skinny enough that I haven't had any hydroplaning. They are P-rated and I feel as though they contribute to a bit of bounce, along with the suspension.

They make cornering feel a bit soft... if that makes sense, but the ride is great. They're OEM, I don't think you can buy them from Toyo.

Googling, the A30 and A31 look very similar to me?

If you get close to the assumed 36,000mi limit of the lease, you will almost certainly have to buy tires. I believe the wear limit on the lease is about 4/32in. I'm pretty close to that on the A30s at 25k.

Like I said the A30 are marginal in the rain. Sort of okay if you religiously stick to speed limits around corners. And, were really good in the snow, which surprised a few of us.

On the soft cornering, up the pressure. 35psi feels right and has given me even wear on the A30s.

I appreciate that advice. I'll try it out.

For any curious about the life... I got my 5k service today and all 4 were at 10/32nds. They start at 11.6/32nds according to TireRack.

    You're welcome.

I can peak through my service records and get a current measurement, if you want?

im looking at some CRAIGSLIST Toyo A31 takeoffs, they don't get really high ratings for winter/snow/ice at all but most factory Tacoma tires get hammered by reviews, if the price is right I would try them

Thanks everyone for advice. If dealer won't swap tires to Firestone i'm asking for lower payment to give me tire allowance and i'll buy Firestones. My firestones i have now on 2017 at 26K miles are at 6/32. thanks again.

At 38K, I just replaced my Toyo tires that came on my Sport. I drive mainly highway and felt Toyo was okay. Went with Michelin LTX Defenders and got $110 off this month at Costco.

good info.. proved my point of Toyo not making it through the lease and really not a good tire. Michelin are the best and nice deal for you. thanks.
