I am thinking about putting Toyo Open Country ATIIs on my Taco in 265/75/16 load range C. I can't find a ton about them on TW. Is anybody running these and if so what are your thoughts? Thanks!

Great tire. I ran these for 3 years. Just replaced them with a set of falkens

i had them for 400 miles and sold them for $400 to a very happy guy here on TW. i actually wanted E's... never had C's before cus i never had a smallish truck before. turns out, C's were far too mushy for me and my setup/driving. great tires but too soft for me even on this truck.

What's your setup/driving? Mine is on the road for the most part, with my offroading being out at my hunting lease. So, I am thinking C's will be better on the road and plenty good enough for my offroading. Soft sounds pretty good actually, and the C's shouldn't be too heavy so shouldn't affect my mileage too much, I wouldn't think.

i would agree with your choice of C's. my choice of E's with my setup isn't based on very similar criteria to others around here. i have E's with somewhat low sidewalls on for responsiveness, steering feel, handling, and toughness. kind of in that order. i don't offroad much but when i do I'm prepared. and if i come up on car parts in the middle of the fast lane at 75mph, I'm protected (which is exactly what totaled my last ride). i have taken my Tacoma in a bit of a street truck or car direction, and it's unique like that. it's also a handling handful and requires plenty of concentration to drive well, which i like. E's with my setup on a light truck (no extra weight on me) is kinda like driving an open wheel race car too slow. the front tires are so stiff that you can't turn the truck much unless you throttle steer. it's the most understeering vehicle I've every driven hands down with my setup.

the issue i had with the C's, especially in 265/70, was the bouncy mushy bit. i can't drive like that and enjoy it. and i drive to enjoy it every time. so, it's just my thing. unless you need ultra tough tires and have a puncture problem where you wheel, then C's will be fine I'm sure.

I’ve been running LT265/75/16 AT2s, c-rated for the past couple years. Great tires imo. I don’t find them mushy by any means but I haven’t ever put E rated on my truck to compare. I had E-rates tires on a smaller SUV though and they road like a dump truck but that could’ve been due to a variety of variables.

Either way my Toyos have been good to me. I’m usually 85%road and 15%offroad driving. On the off-roading I’ve done they’ve performed well. I didn’t notice any significant fuel economy drop either if that’s important to you.

Great tire all around, they don't wear funny like other AT's if you don't rotate them every 10k.

I would say they aren't great at winter or true off roading, but for mild offroading and daily driving you can't get a better tire.

After researching for countless days trying to figure out if I was going to get a P265/75/16 or LT 265/75/16 I decided to go with the p rated and I’m soo happy I did. After reading all these post about the p rated not looking aggressive enough, I was worried that the tires would not look as aggressive as I wanted them to. But I really wanted the p rated because I wanted to keep the tire weight close to the stock tire weight. My suspension is still stock and I wanted the ride to be as close to stock as it could with the new larger tires. I am extremely happy with the P265/75/16 toyo open county at2. They look aggressive but not too much. They are smooth and quiet on the road, and the taller tire fills out the wheel well perfectly. If anyone is debating between the P and LT tires, and you don’t need the extra sidewall thickness, the P rated look great and ride smooth! 81D442B7-97C4-402E-8DCA-9072EAC23F0A.jpg
