My OE GY Wranglers are about done at 22 K miles. They've been good but with winter coming on I probably need to replace them. About 4-6/32 tread left. I drive about 85% pavement and the rest on FS and county dirt roads. Also a lot of snow-packed and unplowed roads. Here in NW Colo the Open Countrys are very common and my local tire store recommends them. My Bro has the LT version on his 3/4 ton power wagon and they've held up well and seem to be wearing uniformly. I like the GYs but they haven't held up tread-wise. No punctures or uneven wear though. I figure that the wear bars will start showing at 30K mi or so. Since I don't carry a lot of weight in the bed, I think the SL version would be beefy enough. The Toyos seem to have good reviews on TireRack and other online reviews. I've been averaging around 23 mpg with the GYs and would like to see the new tires do around the same. The Toyos are around the same weight. Another tire I've been looking at is the Conti TerrainContact A/T. It's a new tire and hasn't had many reviews.
    Thanks...

I had them and liked them, they did great in snow and the tread would clear itself very well. Only complaint I can speak on is they were susceptible to punctures, by the end of my run with them 3 of the 4 were patched or plugged.

Had a set of 265/70/17 P rated and they were great here in Florida. They were very quiet and handled great on the highway. Offroad they were great in sand and, though definitely not a mud tire, did surprisingly well on muddy roads and trails given the mild-looking tread.

I had those in my old taco. They worked great on the snow and quiet on the highway.

I had Les Schwab slap some Toyo Open Country AT II's on my ride on 8/14/2014. 35,000 miles later and I still think they are the best tires I've ever had. I rotate them every ~5k/6k miles and I've never had a single problem with them. The moment I drove off, the truck handled much better and was much quieter than the Dunlops I previously had. There is still tons of meat left on them. They've only seen about 100 miles of dirt roads, no real 4-wheeling, and not a great deal of snow. (I have a dedicated set of studded M/S tires I slap on when needed). For the kind of driving I do, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.
