I currently have the open country RTs, which have been great tires. I'm in FL so they don't see a lot of off roading. Has anyone has ran both and if so what is your opinion on the AT vs RT?

I have the ATIIs only had them for a couple thousand miles but so far I really like them. Good traction off road for what I do and not a lot of highway noise. Plus they are a 65000 mile tire which is a big part of why I chose them.

I have the ATIIs in a C load 31.6" tire. Lightweight, aggressive, deep treads and great offroad. I air them down to like 16-18 psi and they do great. On highway they are quiet and light so they don't negatively affect anything beyond the stock wranglers that used to be on my truck. I have about 12K on them as of now and they are holding up really good. Never tried to R/T just because they are too heavy for my needs. But they look badass as well.

My one complaint is that they are not very good in the snow.

I've had several people tell me the RTs hydroplane easily, but I've never tried a set. I've run several sets of the AT and AT2s and they are a great tire. Your ride quality would most likely improve if you switched to the AT2. I've taken them off road a bit and they do pretty well. Just stay away from mud, they are racing slicks on the mud

Love my R/T's for the hybrid aspect on road and off. 25K miles on mine and they are wearing great. R/T's aren't as good in snow and ice as the A/T's but if you're in Florida I'm guessing that thats not the highest priority for you.

Toyo Open COuntry AT2s are a great tire.
I ran them on my 4runner and loved them. I put 80k miles on the set I had and the tread was not to the wear bars when I traded in for my Tacoma.

Isn’t asking how tires perform really subjective? You’re better off asking about designs, material, and flaws—and then coming to a conclusion. With all the major brand you’ll going to find positive reviews everywhere. With op situation he might as well just down grade to at tires and save a few bucks.

I put Toyo O/C AT II's on my truck 8/14/14 and they get 98% road use. That was 58k miles ago and they still have plenty of meat left on them. They've been a great tire and I've had zero issues with them. They were a world of difference from the bald-ass, worn out Dunlops I replaced them with. They do see a little bit of snow once in a while, but I have dedicated, studded M/S tires for the Idaho winters.

Toyo AT II is the best quality all terrain produced in my experience, they don't feather as badly as any of the competitors and they last a long time even with abuse.

They have 2 short comings, they suck on ice, and are average offroad at best.
