Trying to decide between these two tires.
    Toyo at3 285 75r17 c load
    Vs
    Klever RT 35x10.50r17 D load

Which will be easier to clear the tall and skinny or the shorter and slightly wider?

I already have regear and have done the normal clearancing, cmc pinchweld cut some plastic etc. On 285 70r17 wildpeaks E load right now and they ride a bit rough in my opinion

Drop the pressures right down to 28 psi, you'll want E load if you offroad any. C load all terrains look soft on these trucks in my opinion.

The AT3 is a far better and longer lasting tire, its definitely the better choice, along with the size.

I was worried to drop pressure below 33psi cold cause i didnt want them to wear bad, but ill try 28 today.

I definitely like that the at3s are 7 pounds lighter, i just dont want to have to trim my fenders to get them to fit

The Toyo is a way better tire, long lasting tread and durable. I run the Toyo's on mine, awesome tire.

Wow! Great advice TW members. “The AT3 is a way better tire because I love mine.” How funny!

The Klever is a better tire if you typically air down and do any kind of serious offf roading. It’s actually my favorite tire for hitting the trails after owning KO2”s, Duratracs, and ST Maxx tires previously. The Toyo would be better as more of a road going tire and in areas with regular snow. We have a set on our RAV4 and really like them but wouldn’t run them on our Tacoma that we regularly play in the mud/dirt and do some crawling with.

They are really two different tires for two different purposes. I guess that’s why one is classified as a AT and the other an RT. Plenty of user and some professional reviews on both. Do your own research.

And as far as what tire would fit better, don’t just look at the tire size. Take a look at the actual specs. There can be just over a half an inch in difference between two tires in the same size.

    Kendas all the way.
Solid tire. Great price. Really durable. Low road noise. Mine have been wheeled hard and I drive my truck daily. No issues.

plus, no extra cutting needed other than CMC to get 35’s on

oh. And for what it’s worth, I work for John Deere and they use Kenda tires on a lot of their smaller equipment and commercial mowers. Must mean something if a big company is running those tires.. just my 2 cents.

I don't own Toyo's and I've never even heard of Kenda tires until this post, I've worked with Toyo tires since 2005 and they have the best wear and durability of any A/T tire. I've owned R/T's and A/T's.

I would never suggest a tire manufacturer that you have to dig and google to find any kind of information on them. These are the type of tire that shows up in a sea can and they unload them on Kijiji.

I buy tires from tire companies that have a reputation.

Wow again! That’s pretty funny also.

I guess you weren’t around in the 70’s or 80’s then? I had Kenda’s on some of my motorcycles and bikes well over 40 years ago.

Seems like you need to do a little more research before you post false information on TW.

Great! They make bike tires, thats all that shows up in my regions when I search for them.

You must be really thrifty to be buying no-name tires and putting them on a 30,000$ truck.

“I buy tires from tire companies that have a reputation.” if your in the tire business I’m very surprised that you haven’t heard of Kenda before. Been around for probably as long as Toyo and have as good a rep as any tire manufacturer. Just because they haven’t been making truck tires for very long doesn’t mean they aren’t great tires. There’s lots of tire companies and tires that have been around for a long time that are still crappy.

Check this review out on the Klever that was done on a Tacoma:
    https://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/...-klever-rt-to-the-test-on-some-arizona-rocks/

And show me one bad review of the Klever from any reputable site? Good luck with that. This tire has been around for several years now and has proven itself in the off road community.

I also find it odd that you work with Toyo tires since 2005 and have talked them up but you don’t own any? And you said you’ve owned some R/T tires. Other than the Klever and the Toyo (which you’ve already said you don’t own), I only know of one or two other offerings in an R/T. Can you post some pictures of your R/T tires and tell us about them? Loved my Kenda RTs and would like to try another R/T out soon.

    Cheers

I've had Toyo At2s in the past, and have been running the Kendas for a couple months. Phenomenal tire so far, have had the 33s and just ordered the 35s.

I was on BFGs for 35 years on my trucks. Switched to Toyo AT2s for my older 4runner(sold) and now on my 18 DCLB and Son's dcsb. Amazing tires, light, easy to balance, amazing ride and handling, great in the rain and sand, no snow experience with them. I just put a set of AT3s on my 2000 Tacoma 4x4 and the ride is amazing. Toyos are a well known tire, very light and easy to balance, awesome 60k mile warranty. BFGs are expensive and a pain in the ass to keep balanced. I have no experience with Kenda tires, I have heard the name for years but never tried them. I'm sure they are great tires but they are heavy, unlike Toyos in a C rated or SL rated.

Same boomer reason to keep buying BFG's despite lack of innovation. Reputation does not equal quality/performance. Refusing to change your ways is weak.

Klevers are sick. Buy them, make them fit, and have fun. 35x10.5 is such an awesome size as well.
