Hello! We are Shortly going to purchase a 2021 Geo Pro 20FBS camper, Dry Weight 3220 and tongue weight 406 ! JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ON HERE HAULS THE SAME WEIGHT AND WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS ON THAT WEIGHT. We thought as the Max's for my Taco are 6400 towing 1040 payload and 640 tongue wt. This would be ok. AND AS A SIDE NOTE ITS COMING WITH AN ANDERSON ANTI SWAY HITCH. I also have firestone ride rite air bags installed. THANKS FOR ANY RESPONCES

Full disclosure: I’m towing, when max loaded, 3700# single axle with 440 tongue wt, Hellwig helper springs.

The weights you stated for your trailer and tongue are very doable but your loaded weights will be more so you need to take into account what constitutes ‘payload’. Let’s assume that your loaded trailer weight will be 4200. Your tongue wt should be in the neighbourhood of 500 give or take (10% to 15% of trl wt). Tongue weight is adjustable to a point, depending on where you place load items in the trl -twds the front for increased tw, twds the rear for decreased tw. If your door jam sticker says that your payload can be 1040, subtract the tongue wt, the wt of all passengers and baggage, and anything else you’ve added (tools, running boards, box cap, etc) from the 1040 and you will know what your actual available truck payload will be. It will be a lot less than you think but you can get around this, somewhat, by hauling some of your stuff in the trailer as long as you don’t exceed the loaded trl wt. Best practise is to get your loaded combined rig weighed on a CAT scale (or other) and you’ll know your weights for sure and be able to adjust so you don’t exceed on maximums, either truck or trailer. Also, when on the scale, watch the maximums on front and rear truck axle weights

Bottom line to your question, yes you’ll be ok towing this trl as long as you know what your actual loaded weights are, proper tongue weight, and don’t exceed any stated maximums.

Thank You for your Responce! MY WIFE AND I ARE THE ONLY ADDED PAYLOAD 300 LBS, We don't need to haul alot only doing 3 to 7 day trips . I'm never hauling water or Xtra stuff in the camper . I'm thinking a real loaded weight of 3700 to 3900 would be expected

Sounds good. Based on the wts stated and assuming an 11% tw, your available truck payload might be ~ 330 - 290.

I know it's not going to pull like a half ton, I had a toy hauler 9000 lbs and a super duty f250 so I know what some heavy hauling is. Just a little cautious it's a fair amount of money and I really want to keep my truck! LOVE MY TACO

You seem to know what to expect. I’m actually really happy with how well my truck tows my trailer(#3500 loaded). When calculating payload make sure to include everything that wasn’t on the truck when you bought it. Steps, tonneau cover, bumper guard, etc all adds up. The dealership was supposed to change your door sticker to deduct from payload anything they installed.

The other factor that I find important is speed. I never tow over 60 mph. For a truck that gets allot flack for “can’t tow” you sure see a crapload of them out there doing it. I can’t get over how many Tacomas I see pulling fair size trailers. The constant I hear when chatting with other people about their rig is “pulls fine, awful gas mileage”. Oh well. Towing is only a tiny part of my trucks duty so no big deal for me. Not towing I’m regularly over 20mpg so I’m happy.
