Recently bought a running W123 240D auto and towed it 200 miles on a tow dolly and did not know I needed to disconnect the drive shaft. The car won’t go into any gear now. Any ideas as to what damages I’m looking at? Is the tranny basically toast?

Was it in neutral at least?

Its bad because the oil pump is on the input side and you had the output spinning at highway speeds.

Yeah it was in neutral. It was a dumb move to tow like that but I’m glad it was $1000 car and not my tacoma

You can probably rebuild or replace select portions, once you tear apart. If you order a full rebuild kit it might not be worth it since it sounds like the car ain’t worth a lot anyhow. Maybe find a used trans from the junkyard.
