Been searching for a high clearance rear bumper that has a tow rated hitch. Found a few with a hitch but none that are tow rated.

    Suggestions?

I know of zero aftermarket companies that have the engineering, time and the money needed to get a bumper tow rated.

i think it's less the 'spend the money on getting it rated', and everything to do with the liabilities of marketing a tow-rated hitch to the general public.

    ARB? It'll be a $5000 bumper but they're close to $3000 anyway

^ @Komplex180 is looking for a high-clearance bumper. The ARB is not high-clearance. The ARB re-uses the stock hitch like most other stock-replacement bumpers from Warn, DV8, etc.

Yeah, but I'm saying that's who would (they don't) if anyone would (they won't)

ARB isn’t a tow rated hitch. It’s just a bumper that uses the factory hitch.

Yes both ARB and TJM do it for other trucks like the 2nd gen Frontier, but they aren't high-clearance.

If it were me, I would buy . I would not do it for anyone else because... Liability.
I think ARB has a crash rating. Don't know about a tow rating.

Buy the bumper you like and conduct your own testing - tie the truck between two large trees and pull on the hitch with a 5-ton Porta-Power. :)

my massive summit front bumper was $1500 from them, you suuuuure a rear one would be 3-5k? I haven't priced em lately but when I got my summit they seemed to be the same as the front bumpers cost

    Work in progress...
Ya tow with the hitch. The hitch is connected to the frame. The bumper should not come into play. The hitch is part of the rear frame work. The rear bumper is an after thought. As far as I know...

It would if it had to go through any certifications for anything, even weld or finish specs as defined by SAE.
FWIW I just spent two weeks answering questions and showing process and procedures to an outside auditing firm so we could be certified for another three years. Just the auditor's time was $25K, in addition to the $$$$$$ we spend every year making sure we are able to pass certs in a lot of deciplines. So for a smaller shop? It would bankrupt them.

I'm not sure about actual tow rating but I got mine from SSO and this is what they say on their website (https://southernstyle-offroad.com/c...r-bumper-powdered?_pos=6&_fid=171781e33&_ss=c):

    Weight: 93 lbs
Material: All-American 3/16" thick steel plate
    Shackle Mounts: 3/4" thick
Hitch Construction: 1/4" thick with reinforcement tube design
Towing Capability: OEM spec towing capability
Departure Angle: Increases rear departure by 6" over OEM hitch
    Finish: Powder-coated black
Light Compatibility: Optional reverse light popouts fit Baja Designs flush mount S2, Rigid SR-M backup lights, and Sylvania 4" flush mount lights

And yes, I use mine for towing regularly.
