Anyone have experience with Toyota's extended warranty, Total Care Auto? Is it really worth the $25-$30 a month?

For the 7 year / 100,000 miles, key replacement, dent repair, & appearance protection it comes out to be $27.55 per month or $2040 total.

Hard to say. I know people who have had it for other model Toyota’s and have had good experiences. However, I know a few jokers who had this on their FRS and had bad experiences. Again, the FRS guys were a bunch of jokers and probably did something they shouldn’t have and that was the cause of their issues.

I may be wrong but I think the extended warranty isn’t specific to your dealer. Meaning, you can “shop” around other dealers for a better price. I personally get the extended warranty. Many others are against it because Tacoma’s are “bulletproof”. But if you’re on TW long enough, you’ll find that it’s not haha.

Damn. That’s not a bad price overall. If you plan to keep the truck for a while - why not? Personally, I would do it if I was over my 36k warranty.

I have it, but have no idea if it's worth it. But since this truck stays with me for life, unless totalled, I figure it was worth it

finally someone who likes the Spaghetti westerns! Thank you sir. I love that movie and just about all the others. Not to hijack the thread on a different topic - but much appreciated - a fantastic movie.

Hahahaha such a great movie. Completely agreed. Almost all old westerns are amazing. But there are some that just stand out a bit more. Like Trinity, Full of Dollars, and My Name is Nobody.

As for the Toyota care. If you keep the truck buy it. If you don’t plan to keep it for a bit longer, like for the life of the truck, then don’t do it. Or as @shakerhood said, shop around and see if you can start a bit of a bidding war against the dealerships. With COVID I am sure the dealerships are more willing to make some concessions to get extra cash flow

So this is not a standardized cost? It varies? I was under the impression that price was set. lol

By dent repair, if they cant repair it, will they replace the panel? Example would be a bedside.

If they're like this dents too big you're on your own, then pass for me.

I am sure it is “set” as in MSRP. But you know dealerships, they are willing to give you something that might make up for some of the cost like oil changes or throw in something else to help entice you to buy it

Last time I looked into it it was:
    4 yr / 125K - $790.00

    5 yr / 100K - $765.00

    5 yr / 125K - $915.00

    6 yr / 75K - $645.00

    6 yr / 100K - $895.00

    6 yr / 125K - $1140.00

    7 yr / 75K - $715.00

    7 yr / 100K - $1025.00

    7 yr / 125K - $1250.00

    8 yr / 75K - $835.00

    8 yr / 100K - $1145.00

    8 yr / 125K - $1505.00

    9 yr / 100K - $1265.00

    9 yr / 125K - $1665.00

    10 yr / 100K - $1360.00

    10 yr / 125K - $1795.00
But this was not dent repair, etc. Just regular Platinum warranty.

But what does this all cover? Do the tiers change at all? Do you get more with the timeframes or is it all the same just the total years or mileage?
