"Top Tier" Gasoline

Do you buy "Top Tier" gasoline everytime you buy gas?

 

It's all generally the same due to government mandated standards. Ethanol free however is certainly better, if you can find it for a reasonable price.

 

Rarely ever do I not. With no known issues and never a need for injector cleaner, I don't have a reason to doubt it. It seems that all the Top Tier branded places have caught up to Chevron Techron, which ended my need for injector cleaner.


Now if we could only get rid of the damn ethanol BS.

I just read an article recently on how producing it is more damaging to the environment and creates more emissions than it saves.

To the OP, I stick with top tier. Chevron, Shell or Mobil unless I don't have a choice.

Yessir. And if I recall, that study didn't include the waste that ethanol fuels has caused, like on the marine and motorcycle side.

 

I would say half the time just because the Chevron station is less than a mile from my house. The other station I typically go to isn't "top tier" but they sell so damn much fuel that it's super fresh. I put more weight into freshness over branded detergents. All fuel has detergents as mandated by the government. It's just how much and what it is. Top tier vendors don't publish that ratio of additional detergents. I'll dump in a bottle of something with PEA when I go on a long trip.

This is important too. Never fill up right after they just filled the tanks. Kicks up all the sediment at the bottom of the stations holding tanks

 

Thanks to Wisconsin's minimum markup laws, Costco is usually only about 5 cents cheaper than the Kwip Trip down the road. The lines at Costco are almost always so long that I'd rather spend the extra $1 to get in and out faster.

I don't really care if my gas is "top tier", but I always insist that my oils are all "essential" and I spend at least 3 months salary when I buy diamonds for my smoking hot trophy wife.

PS: all marketing bull if you have not caught the gist of my response. Top tier; what a load of crap!

 

I rarely have lines to deal with at Costco. But, I usually go there when the fewest folks are around. Gas is on the way to work not long after they open, similar with the store.

Beyond that, using the Costco Citi Card, they also bought me a set of speakers and a drone for my effort. Hahahaha!
