I bought two Dewalt plastic dry storage tool boxes and a ratchet bed holder from Harbor Freight and it works great. You can run a cable lock thru the bed cleats to secure. The two dewalt boxes fit perfect across the front of bed.

I put those in my 2nd gen Dcsb.

You ditched the peg leg supports Also?

I put a pressure treated 2x4 between tool box and wheel well for extra support. I painted it black, flipped it, cut off 1”, and screwed it in.

Yes, I didn't want those legs mucking up the storage space.
There was less than 1/2" between the bedliner and the bottom of the box so I left it as is for now. If there is a strength issue I'll add something but it's working good so far.

Uws aren’t plug in play. Holes will need to be drilled in their sides. Then bolts put through holes to tie into bed rail system, via T slot nuts.

There’s also undercover swing outs that fit on top of wheel well. Don’t think bed extenders work with them though.

Toyota has oem ones that gunny on the forum can get for you also.

I’ve seen some people mount old metal ammo boxes as side mounts too.
