I personally like the Leer design 350 (3 piece) and 650 (4 piece) hard covers that when folded up do not lean against the back of the cab plus do not need drain hoses to be installed.

Any particular reason you want a roll-up as opposed to a trifold? I initially thought I wanted the same thing, but then I talked to some people I know who had them. They all had trouble with fitment in extreme temperatures because the cover would shrink or expand. They had trouble with the Velcro getting tired after a couple years and getting stuff stuck in it. My dad had one years ago that had a track with plastic posts that snapped into it. It was damned near impossible to snap them in if it got below 20°F and he had to keep a mallet in the cab to encourage them. He never broke anything, but the few times I interacted with it in the cold, it sure felt like I was close to it.

I ended up getting a soft trifold and am happy with it. Most people I know ended up going that route too. All I’ve had to do in the last five years with any of them is squirt a little silicone on the hinges and seals, and lube the spring-loaded lock-down handles.

Same reason I got the x4s, I have a kayak and other stuff I throw in the back. All the tri folds I found took up either 1/4 of the bed or stuck up in the air taking up the whole cab window.

I have the X4S on my 3rd gen. It's been replaced twice and needs to be replaced again. Absolute garbage quality imo.

I put an Access 'Original" roll-up on my Tacoma. I've had several Access covers on different trucks over the last 15 years. They're great covers and easy to install.

I got a cheap (truxedo I think) roll up that I switch with my softopper when I feel like it. It’s been in 100° heat and 0° cold. Does it expand and contract with the weather? Maybe but it’s not noticeable. Same goes for the softopper

What about a retractable cover like Retrax. The canister that holds the cover takes up some room, but they are secure, have clean look and you can top load them. You can also get them with slot bed rails if you wanted to install a ladder rack and carry Kayaks.

I have the Gator tri-fold. Cheap ($279) and works well, easily removable without having to climb into the bed etc. Not susceptible to significant shrinkage (see George Costanza) like the roll-up..

I'm still happy with my Fas-Top that may or may not be good for others. In addition to being a roll up tonneau cover I can roll a soft topper out of my bed or quickly take that soft topper off. This pic might illustrate the concept well enough. Fas-Top web site has info and keep in mind they have a compatible rack system.

I have a Truxedo truxport on my gen 3 and when my 4th gen order comes in I will be putting same one on. Fits perfectly and has supports in it so it won't droop. Also like the way it latches down at the tailgate.

Have the Gator SRX roll up and really like the ease of use both rolling up to the cab and back down to full cover. It’s low profile with support bars and holds up well to freezing temps and snow loads we receive in NE Ohio. Can’t speak to long term durability yet but seems well made and a great value at $240!IMG_2225.jpg IMG_2220.jpg IMG_2221.jpg

    I have the Access Literider.

    https://www.accesscover.com/literider/

Similar to the Gator and the Truxedo I guess, based on the above posts - it has support bars to prevent droop and rolls up quite easily. It was a reasonable price from a local outfitter and was a quick install. I especially like the tension adjustment knobs, which have been helpful adjusting to seasonal temperature change, though doesn't seem like that's an issue for OP. Still, seems a high quality cover that will last.

I had an Access LE on my last Taco and really liked it. Not sure to try again or go another route.

Do you have any pictures of the inside how it is secured, I would like to see the brackets.
Also do you have a link for the cover.
    Thank You in advance
