Has Toyota released a hard tonneau cover for the 4th Gen?

No one has talked about it, but I think it is an important accessory. The OEM cover on my '21 exceeded expectations by being well-made and relatively water-resistant. Needless to say, it gets lots of use, and along with the bed mat, adds tremendous utility to the truck.

It seems they are leaving it to the aftermarket makers.

I was wondering the same thing. I would really need a tonneau cover after picking up the truck.

Not that I have found in the aftermarket. I don’t think the previous gen (3rd gen) covers will work. This isn’t confirmed just my opinion from observation and could be wrong on this though, I think the bed is slightly different.

If anyone out there has found one to work please do let us know.

There is an option sheet floating around either here or on 4G that I believe showed an OEM cover with a release date of TBD. I also read that the bed is different than 3rd gen so existing covers will not carry forward. Now that trucks are on the lots, I can't imagine it will take long before we start seeing them.

I've reached out to a couple of aftermarket companies and most have plans or are prepped to get their hands on a vehicle to validate what they've built. I wished I lived closer to a few of them so I could stop in and let them crawl around mine when it arrives.

Hopefully the aftermarket cranks some out soon. I’ve got a road-trip in may that I need one for. Good to hear that some of them only need a truck to validate something they have already built!

I have a Bakflip MX4 on my 2017 and love it - much lower profile than the OEM. I guarantee they are working on one for 4G, although like everything else the price has gone way up :jerkoff:

Lomax has their entire line for the 24's and they are currently shipping. We have sold about 12 so far so should have some good pics and such soon. We also offer great pricing for members.

BAK has most of their in line for production... Part #'s have been assigned and they are saying shipping should start within the next couple weeks so we will see.

Let me know if anything needs some quotes.

    Application: 2024 Tacoma Off-Road 5' bed

I've put retractable tonneau covers on all my pickups over the years (6 trucks) and always had a local company install brand-name covers. But when I went back to them to put one on my 2024 Taco, I found the prices were significantly higher than in the past and there weren't many options to choose from since the truck is so new. I was quoted just shy of $3k for a retractable cover and rails. After some research, I decided to DIY and install this for $1,138 all in (They were offering a discount coupon at the time I bought it): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CSHSMRGQ/. I am not sponsored by SyneticUSA or do I receive any benefit from the link I just provided.

The track runs smooth with no hang-ups and fits like a dream, it was easy to install myself with no help, took me about 4 hrs to do it all start to finish. I cut down the length of the rails by 8" to match the width of the truck bed because I found I was bumping my head into the ends as I walked around the truck in the garage (doh!). The product is as solid as any other brand name I have had professionally installed on my other trucks over the years. I am completely happy with the truck bed cover and rails, and especially since I saved $1,800 in the process of DIY.

...this 9' Scadden pontoon boat. As you can see, without rails, it just doesn't fit the 5' Taco bed! Fits and rides like a dream now that I have rails on top of the bed.

Nice set up you have there! I am waiting on my diamondback cover for mine. I decided to put the slides on so I can adapt a rail set up as well. Now to decide the height to go with. Plan to haul kayak and possible bikes when not using my hitch rack.
