Tonneau Cover Additional Secuirty Lock

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to share this little modification I did on my tonneau cover, I just felt it was to easy for someone to stick wire/metal hanger in between the tailgate and the tonneau cover and pull to the cable to lift it up.

My tonneau cover is a undercover ultra flex but I'm sure this modification can be done too all types.

Materials:
-Two flat plates (used as spacers)
-High strength plastic weld ( I just went with clear)
-Barrel Bolt https://www.farmstore.com/product/national-hardware-n151-522-barrel-bolt-steel/

I only installed this on one side but it could be implemented on both sides for added strength.

And remember -

A bit of a necro-bump but oddly this was the only post I could find, kind of surprised.


I’m surprised more people haven’t chimed in about making these things more secure.
