To Rake or not to Rake? I don't think it should be a question.

I believe a truck should have rake for the opportunity to haul. But if I were to never haul anything more than my mother in law, I'd still want rake because I think it looks bad ass.

Do you think there are aerodynamic or safety differences to a squatted truck vs. level vs. rake (assuming it's just set that way and no additional load)?

I'm a level headed person so it would be of no value to me.

If you don’t think it should be a question, why did you ask it? I hate the stink bug look! The new ranger looks ridiculous, btw.

No significant difference in performance as long as suspension components are equal.

Level looks weird, unless the truck is pulling a trailer.

    Rake all the way.

I edited to include safety too because I agree haha. Thought a discussion could be in order though.

To me a bit of rake is needed. Just think of all the cool old muscle cars, they weren't levelled or squatted. They were and still are the epitome of cool. Looks aren't the most important thing but a vehicle that is pleasing to look at is something everyone wants. A squatted or levelled truck doesn't please me. But to each their own.

I'm on team rake. It doesnt look weird to me as long as it's not excessive.

To me this looks excessive. Not my truck. I just looked up truck rake angle...

It's all preference, but I agree with Rock Lobster. If you have a level truck, then load the bed, your headlights become a danger to oncoming traffic. Rake all the way.

Dang that's clean, especially for Vermont. I had a 2000 4Runner, my daily driver for 17 years, it eventually just wore out.
Still miss it, but I do like the tech in my 3rd gen.

I think I read somewhere that positive rake also helps turn in and cornering due to downforce. These trucks come with rake from the factory. I try to leave it that way, or at most leveled.

I know! I would say he needs to get that front up a bit or drop it a little in the back to get it close to a factory looking rake. I'd love to see them hook a trailer to it just to see how ridiculous it would look LOL
